Stanley Proto J5244 3/8" Drive Drag Link Socket, 11/16"

I thought is was slightly small for my taste but it worked as designed. No unusual complaints here.

A solid little tool. I had to shave the tip down a little to get it to fit into the slot of the thing which I was trying to tighten (VW Beetle engine oil pressure relief plug). I ground it down with a tungsten grinder on a die grinder and I can tell you that the material this is made out of is REALLY hard. The fresh tungsten grinder had a hard time grinding it and took a good while considering how little I took off. It should take a lot of abuse.

Thickness had to be ground down a bit to work in my application. Worked just fine.

Good socket bit. Bought it for the screen plug for a Harley but it is too wide for this application.

This broke within 5 minutes of using it. It’s not for anything remotely resembling heavy duty. Jeez. What a disappointment.

I bought the drag link socket to remove the slotted caps on a 1986 Harley Davidson oil pump ,the engine is a 80 cu / in Evo engine . I was surprised that all of the dimensions for this drag link socket was not on Amazon ,the socket is a 3/8 drive ,the outside diameter is .690 , the length is 1.130 long , the blade width is .121 , this socket would be perfect for a .125 slot and the slots on my oil pump are .093 so I am going to machine the width of the blade to .090 and that will fit perfect.

Bought it for shovel / evo tappet filter screw, needed some grinding to narrow the blade but it’s a keeper.
