.com Konk, the second album from indie pop starlets The Kooks, will appeal to those who enjoyed the catchier, hookier elements of their best-selling debut Inside In/Inside Out. For the band are more "pop" than "indie" this time around, and Konk is an overt attempt at winning even more chart-topping kudos: and it's not a bad attempt at that. Recorded over a six-week period at the end of 2007 (in Ray Davies' Konk Studios in London), the album's first single "Always Where I Need to Be" is as insouciantly catchy as a contemporary rock band can get, while tracks like opener "See the Sun," and "Mr. Maker", with its infectious hand claps, are equally accessible. There's tougher fare like "Sway", which show the boys can blast it when they want, but the album generally plays it safe, grappling (clumsily in places) with themes of love and sex, and revealing not a great deal of musical or lyrical depth in the process (see "Do You Wanna"). The album runs out of steam towards the end, and though fans of their earlier material will love it, fussier indie fans will probably point their ears towards something less contrived. --Danny McKenna

This is a Cool Album
If your into this band then this is the CD you need to buy. If your just getting into this band then this CD is a great first purchase. You will recognize some of their songs from TV commercials, Mr. Maker is my favorite song on this album, then Always where I need to be. This is a great band, with a great sound and clever lyrics. Once you buy this album you will want to buy their others, I did.

Great Second Album
Been a long time fan of these lads so picked up the reissue of this vinyl as the original costed a fortune. It's the exact same gatefold sleeve as the original expect all shiny and new :). The disk is immaculate and I can't wait to give it a spin.I love this album with some personal favourites being See The Sun, Shine On, Gap and Always Where I Need To Be.

商品購入をしてから１ヶ月以上経ち届きました。当初は一週間程度だったのですが、連絡もなく到着日が延期され、挙げ句の果てには到着予定日を過ぎてもなお届かない事態になっておりました。商品事態に問題はなく、作品としてもいいものなので、それについては星五でありますが、販売店の対応なども良くなく少し残念であります。
