Simpson Strong-TieSTB2-50334 Strong-Bolt® 2 — 1/2-in. x 3-3/4-in. Wedge Anchor (25-Qty)

I used these to hold post supports for a deck. The only complaint I have, is the actual size of the shield. Seriously, to small when spreading. If you are able to drill straight down, without the slightest deviation of movement or tilting from your drill, then you are fine. After tapping he anchor in, and starting to tighten, is when you discover that, the slight itch you got, now causes the entire bolt (not just the anchor) to spin. Basically, IT WON'T GRAB! And, the now all the other holes you drilled, will have to be re-drilled.

I installed 25 of these and they hold well. You need to vacuum the dust out of each hole. Don't try the compressed air technique unless you want to wear an isolation suit! Just one of them slipped on me when tightening down and I had to drill another hole to get a grip. That may have been a void in the concrete--I don't know. What I can tell you is drilling 25 4" deep holes in poured concrete with a hammer drill is really no fun!

Strong and work well. Used to install Simpson post bases as instructed.

Just what I needed to securely fasten a post holder to concrete, the hardest part was drilling the holes which took some time and effort. These ties are well made and I expect them to last for years.

With beforehand planning, I was able to save some money by purchasing these in box quantity, for about 1/3 less than a big box store...a deal is a deal!

Anchor works better than one I got from home depot which will not hold.They are both simpson brand but I guess this must be a new and improved one.
