for extra umami above what basic soy sauce offers
The ingredients show that it is basically a salty powder, similar to soy but with additional layers of umami. Jazz it up with additonal flavors if need be, or enjoy it on its own. I like to have it on hand for simple addition to some udon noodles, or even fried rice. I dont get the flavor experience I want when I just want some mostly plain Udon noodles. This gives it the taste I am looking for. Sometimes I add a little toasted sesame oil and some broccoli. For less than $3, it is a worthwhile addition to my giant spice pantry

I love this seasoning!!! It gives my soups an exquisite flavor, with a small amount and it has very low calories. Now I tried it in Japanese fried rice and I definitely won't buy it in a restaurant again, it turned out great!!!

I keep a box of this always on hand.
I've been using this oden broth mix for many years now. It's my secret ingredient for broths and pasta. Cooking potatoes in it before mashing then takes them to another level. It also seasons your fried rice perfectly.
