Bread Loaf Bags
My husband recently bought me a bread maker for mother's day and I was having a hard time finding something to store my bread in that would fit the loafs. I also wanted to be able to give my bread away to family and friends. I was nervous about getting these because my machine can bake large loaves and I was worried about them fitting in the bag. My bread machine bakes up to 2 pound loaves and these bags fit very nicely. Actually, you could probably fit two loaves in these bags. I was surprised at the quality of the bags, they are much stronger and thicker than bags that you get from the bakery at your grocery store. I think these are a nice deal and they work great. I highly recommend these.

I Feel Cheated
These bags are NOT 2 mil, as advertised. They are very flimsy. They are as thin as the lightest weight produce bags from the grocery store. They are not even as heavy as the Ziploc sandwich bags, which are 1.2 mil--so I think these are actually under 1 mil in thickness. Also, they were supposed to come with twist ties--no ties. I could have bought from King Arthur for just a bit more $$, and gotten the 2 mil. King Arthur gives what they say. I wouldn't dare put these in the freezer without double-bagging. I will try to return these.UPDATE: I checked with King Arthur, and their bags are 1 mil, no ties, so probably about the same thing. Also checked out bags at Pleasant Hill Grain. They offer 2 sizes: Large--4x8x18, easily hold a 10" loaf, 1 mil 100 ct for $6.49; Ex-large--5x6x20, easily holds a 12" loaf, 2 mil 100 ct for $7.99; also have pkg 2K loose white twist ties 4" long for $8.99. Flat rate ship for $7.95 for orders under $99. Very reliable vendor. I ordered some of the 2 mil to compare.

Well made...but too small.
These bags are well made but too small for most loaf sizes. I use a 9 x 4 x 4 inch Pullman bread pan, and the finished loafs just barely fit inside the bag.I don't think a standard size loaf would fit into the bag. The Pullman pan creates a flat topped loaf of bread..not rounded at the top..if the loafs were rounded..they would not fit inside the bag.

A Pretty Solid Bread Bag
Got my bags yesterday via Amazon Prime. The bags are pretty thick (thicker than the bags your average loafs of bread come in at the supermarket). Most of the loaves I make are in a 9 x 5 bread pan and I find they fit into these bags with relative ease. The bags were very well packaged. First removing it from the Amazon box, it was then sealed in plastic shipping envelope. Once opened, the bags were all folded in half and sealed in a clear plastic bag. The package also contained a zip lock type bag with the twist ties.Overall, these are quality bags, for a good price.

Not big enough around
I thought I had read enough reviews to intelligently buy the proper sized bread bags. These bags are nice but not big enough around for my traditional big loaves of bread. If my bread wasn't so high, I'd would be very pleased with these. I either need to bake skinnier loaves, have more failures or find bigger bags.

Carefully Read the Bag Description
The problem with these bags is not the fault of the seller, but mine, because I failed to pay attention to the "bread loaf bags" description. So, ultimately these bags are the wrong size for my bread. I use them anyway, because the bags are good quality—I just cut the bread in half to accommodate the bag size.

Good bags, but not the right shape
I make my own bread every week and none of my loaves fit into these bags. They are, however, the perfect size for bagels. If I make bread, I need to slice the bread before putting them into the bags..and even then they still don't fit properly. I can BARELY get one loaf in.

great quality
These bread bags are very thick and of good quality. I use these for bread I make in my bread machine and they expand to fit any size loaf made. sometimes my bread loaf ends up too large to fit a slice within my toaster, but the bread bags are large enough. They come with twist ties as well. The bags are made well enough that I often re-use them a couple times before getting out a new clean one.
