Fish Skinner

Old school make and feel. They work great! Highly recommend them for skinning catfish.

These fish skinners are awesome! Thick stamped stainless steel, heavy duty spring and quality rubber grips. These should last a lifetime, and the pincer edges can be sharpened when needed. If the happen to wear out I will definitely buy another from this manufacturer. Keep up the good work keeping it American made!

While the intended purpose is skinning fish I used them to skin squirrels. I use the pants/shirt method and as age takes strength and range of motion from my hands and fingers I was finding it difficult to grasp the skin to pull the "pants" off the squirrel. These make it easier to get a grip on the hide, they also work good for breaking the leg bones making it easier to cut the feet off. Seem to be well made with close tolerances on the jaws.

I got this mainly for pulling the membrane off of ribs. I wish I had bought this years ago! It works perfect for this. Maybe someday I’ll even try it for fish!

Caught my first fish at age 5 and am now 67. Have tried any number of these things and none ever worked!!! I now have a beautiful case of arthritis and my hands do not work anymore. These skinning tools had a four plus rating so decided to try them out. Used them today on a 5 pound catfish and they actually worked beautifully. Slipped easily under the skin, held with a strong, sturdy grip! Off came the skin like a pair of pants! My strong recommendation, these really, REALLY worked!

I bought these to help skin squirrels and peel the membrane off of baby back ribs. They will come in handy for the occasional catfish and frogs as well. Actually they can be used for most any game or fish. They are well built and seem solid enough. They say they are stainless steel but, as another reviewer noted, the metal is attracted to a magnet. Time will tell how long they will stand up to hard use but I believe they are the best on the market presently.
