BORG LOCKS BL6100 Narrow Style Digital Lock With UPVC Extension

I have installed this to an aluminium door. Very easy to fit. Just need to read the instructions. Great solid quality. Using it for a block of flats. Very satisfied.

When I first fitted this lock onto my porch, it worked intermittently. I discovered that any extra pressure on the spindle caused problems. I contacted Borg locks to see if I had done something wrong. They agreed to send another lock, which worked at first and I returned the first one. They claim that there was nothing wrong with the first one - they obviously did not test it properly! Not did they reimburse the postage of £17 (these things are heavy!). On hindsight I should have gone through the vendor rather than going to the manufacturer. The next problem is that the lock fails to open if the temperature drops below -3C. I emailed Borg locks again and they said that mechanical locks sometimes get water into them which freezes, and could offer no solution. They really should not claim that it is suitable for outside use in countries like the UK that are frequently wet and cold!
