Honda 06814-VE2-030 Chute Kit

The chute for my honda is great.. just put it on and close the discharge guard and you are ready to go.I have tried it on heavy grass and works fine. No more stopping to dump grass catcher..

I inherited and old Honda bagging mower. It runs great, but the bag fills up so fast, and to go without the bag, it leaves big clumps and gets clogged. I looked around, found this, and gave it a shot. After using it for a few months now, here's my review. It works great on dry grass. On especially thick, tall, or wet grass, it can become clogged, but I think thats too be expected with any mower if you let the grass get too long, or try to cut when it's still wet. All in all, I love this attachment. I was considering finding a new Honda push mower with side discharge chute. With this, I'm more than happy to continue using my old mower!

This product met my expectations once I changed my blades back to the single bagger blade. It was clogging up pretty easily and I was getting frustrated. The mulching blades aren't designed to fling the clippings as hard so clippings build up pretty quickly. Once I changed the blades I would estimate that the clippings came out at 3-4x the rate compared to the standard twin mulching blades.I believe you can purchase just the lower Hi-lift mulching blade to use in conjunction with the upper mulcher too, if you don't want to have to change the blade every time you decide you'd like to mulch instead of bag/discharge.That little metal piece in the picture is only needed if you have a steel deck mower. On my Zenoy deck, the discharge chute just drops in like the bag attachment. Super easy. Also, there is a big metal deflector shield inside that I bent upwards a bit to open up the channel a bit more. Once I did that, the clipping spread out far and wide. No need to rake or see the lines of clumpy grass in my lawn.
