Front Line Nurse: An emotional first world war saga full of hope

and read it over 2 nights..I am very interested in WW1 nursing and this book did not disappoint -it was well researched and the period whilst one of the main characters served at the front line it was well described and did not follow the path of other- novels that the glamorous heroine fell in love with a handsome doctor! It also dealt with social issues of the time and I highly recommend it.

Each character is well rounded and believable.I found the descriptions of WW1 difficult to read but necessary to the plot.I couldn't put this book down,wan ting to know what would happen next.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, it was extremely true to life as well as having a romantic angle.

What a lovely, heart-warming story!I couldn’t stop turning the pages—so deeply I was engrossed in the characters who were easy to relate to. Their growth through the unfolding events is amazing. Although it is a historical fiction piece, for this reader, the romantic part of it was especially engrossing. And the ending of the story delighted me greatly. Highly recommend.

I liked that the character had a successful life although she started as an orphan.

The 'read' of this book is a little lighter than I'd have liked, but I'm still enjoying the time I spend reading it.. I'm an RN so this is interesting from a historical perspective (ie, no antibiotics during WW I - drugs we take for granted now). Once I'm finished, I'll pass it along to a nursing student friend - maybe she'll appreciate all we have now to care for patients more than she might otherwise.

This was a interesting love story. People can be in love and make it it doesn't matter rich or poor.

The reader has been taken into several different lives, while learning much about the years of World War l.The characters have disparate beginnings and marvelous interactions.I fully enjoyed the book and so give the 5* rating.
