Will it detect trusses through the shingle and plywood of a roof?

Actually it does not detect trusses through a shingle roof. I had to go to the $700 variety a Bosch D-Tect150 D-Tect Wallscanner, also available at amazon for $644 +Tax. I use a sheet of cardboard on the roof top to smooth out the rolling action, particularly with 30 year dimensional shingles.

Will this find studs through exterior siding, stucco, or other exterior house coverings?

It couldn't find 2x rafters under 3/8" plywood and tar paper reliably, maybe 50/50. I didn't use it through shingles. I returned it. Maybe it had a hard time seeing wood under wood.

Can this work through carpet and padding to get to floor joists? Trying to fix squeaks in floor.

It can detect floor joists through carpet but you have to use exactly the right pressure so it's very hit and miss.

As a beekeeper i'm employed to remove bee colonies in walls ans roof top. Can this unit detect the location of the colony?

I doubt it would work for that but I'm not 100% sure. Personally I would utilize a thermal camera over this. Flir makes one that will attach to a Iphone and is cheaper then this unit.
