Good Grips Mess-Free Pepper Grinder

It was a gift for my wife. We love our salt and Pepper grinders. They work well, and look great. The setting can be adjusted for various needs. Easy to refill and keep clean.

I've had the grinder for a few months now and I still get so happy every time I use it. I miss it when I'm dining out, and almost packed it for traveling over the holidays. Yeah, I sort of love pepper, what can I say! Pros: * Feels great in the hand, very sturdy and durable * Easy to fill, easier to use -- I could see this being a kind nonelectric grinder for people with arthritis due to the mill's smooth grinding, easy-to-grip turning base, and (relatively large) quantity of pepper grinded per turn. * No, seriously, this thing spits out pepper like you wouldn't believe. Using the cheapo plastic supermarket grinders is an ordeal (especially with wet or damp hands!) and this is such a delight. Covers a roast or steak in just a few twists. * Easy to adjust grind size; I would possibly agree that 3 variations would be sufficient since there isn't too much of a notable difference in the 2 and 4 compared to their neighbors, but I won't complain about more options either! * I appreciate that it has a partially clear body so you know at a glance when to refill. * Kitchen workhorse that also looks good enough to use for table service. Cons: * I've seen some reviews complain that the fine grinding isn't fine enough for their tastes. I could see that as a fair point, but I wonder how many of those people are familiar with freshly-ground vs. factory pre-ground? It's plenty fine enough for me. * I was happy enough with the grinder that I purchased the matching salt grinder within a couple of weeks. In retrospect, I could've saved some cash by buying the set (20% less expensive at the time of writing) vs. each piece separately. I don't know if you can call this a con though, just a lack of faith/foresight on my part. If you're thinking you might eventually want both, then do it all at once -- you won't regret it.

The product itself is STELLAR and works quite exactly as described and touted, so SATISFYING something is hard, works, and is very easy to operate and clean and adjust the coarseness of the pepper, and easier to refill than others. One thing: Why put a super-sticky-can't-be-removed sticker on it so the pleasure of a nice product is marred as one scrapes and scrapes the glue, never to be removed? After all, there is no THEFT PROBLEM, right? Get it anyway, it is extremely good.

He loves it, and I love that there's no more clouds of pepper in my kitchen, irritating my sinuses and making me sneeze. When he uses this grinder, I don't smell ANY pepper, AND there's no pepper sprinkled on the counter around his plate or bowl.

I hate the word "foodie" and I hate the thought that the word might be applied to me, but when it comes to freshly ground black pepper, I can be demanding. So many dishes transform from really good to amazing with a twist or two of a pepper grinder. I've used different grinders over the years with varying degrees of success: a traditional wood grinder, a cheap plastic grinder with a crank, an expensive plastic grinder with ceramic burrs. None was perfect: inconsistent grind, messy, difficult to operate, slow grind, difficult to refill, or so fragile it broke within a few weeks of easy use. This OXO grinder puts all the others to shame. Pros: * Grind selection is simple, positive, and easy. * Grind is consistent. * Grind is fast, putting out a lot of pepper at every grind setting. * Grinding knob is wide and hand-filling with deep, comfortable indentations to give you plenty of leverage to make grinding easy. * This grinder feels solid in my hands. Some grinders are unstable while grinding, making it a bit of a challenge to lay down an accurate, consistent grind. This thing feels rock solid. * Refill opening is nice and wide allowing you to pour it full without having to chase down too many skittering peppercorns. * Stows away with the grinder facing up, preventing pepper dust from covering your shelves and countertops. * Comes prefilled with a perfectly serviceable black pepper. Cons: I'm trying hard to think of any. * This grinder is not compact. It's a little wider, heavier, and bulkier than some other grinders I've owned. It's not a on-the-go, picnic grinder. * With the grinder facing up in storage, dust and crud can settle on it. This is not a grinder for someone who uses freshly ground pepper once or twice a year. I wipe/brush the grinder outlet to clear out residual pepper dust anyway, so it's not a problem for me.

Nice pepper grinder. Does what I need it to do! Got it to go with my OXO coarse salt grinder. OXO brand is always my “go to” brand for kitchen gear. I’ve always been pleased with their products. Arrived quickly and is as described by the seller.

Durable and easy to use. The rubber grip and fairly large diameter makes grinding easy. The best feature, though, is the adjustable grind setting enables a very coarse grind at its upper end. I like crunchy little bits of pepper for some things, including tomatoes, fish, and pork. This is the first grinder I've found that allows a coarse enough grind to add great texture to tomato sandwiches. It has held up for 9 months and I look forward to using it for years to come.

I love how it grinds so well compared to cheap grinders mid priced and works so well with easy to adjust grinder setting. I am 100 % satisfied with my purchase. Highly commend. Looks good for every day table use as well as cooking.

I have one of these for salt, and it’s well built, works well, looks great It’s easy to fill, it’s transparent and has a great brushed steel finish. I decided I want the matching pepper corn crusher too, and found that it was cheaper when I bought a set , in a fancy black metal. So I bought those- meh, not the same, I kept holding back for months and finally got this, and now I’m satisfied. So, go for this, Oxo good grips almost always has given me a good product and this is one of their better ones. It works well, looks great and is easy to maintain. Buy this one- in brushed steel, don’t get the black metal finish that is cheaper when you buy a set, you’ll thank me later.

What an excellent kitchen must have! I had a battery operated peppermill before and it was messy, pepper every where on the counter, luckily it broke. I decided to go manual it has a matching salt set and it's great to use at the dinner table when you have guests. It still looks fancy but very practical and a very good price. The grip is excellent. Watched many YouTube reviews before buying it glad I did, use it everyday.
