Great boots!
After reading several reviews of the Viking chainsaw protective boots I purchased these 1 size smaller than my shoe size. They are perfect with heavy boot socks. I couldn't find a width listed, and I have EE feet. They are fine, and the toe box is roomy as well. Yes, the calf is a bit small, can't tuck in my pants. Sort of a drawback since I often have to cross my stream to retrieve trees that have fallen in, but they are warm and dry inside. Excellent lug tread which is open so mud will drop out. If you want to wear liners you probably should order your shoe size or 1 size larger. No mention of liners in their product literature. Overall I think these are a good boot and provide protection from incidental contact with a saw chain. 5 🌟

Size runs big.
I love these boots. They have a nice tread for traction and are heavy and seem well made. After reading some of the other reviews, I ordered them a whole size smaller, and they're still a little loose. I plan on putting some nice inserts in to make them fit better. Order at least a size smaller than your tennis shoes or dress shoes. The boots do seem like they'll be a little hot but also water proof so that's good. I'll try to update the review after I've spent a few hours in the woods in them.

A great safety boot
A must have for safety. I do a lot of trail work as well as firewood gathering and over the years have been glad to have chainsaw protection. Protective areas run from the steel toe to significantly up the shin. With chaps on its complete coverage. Bought these boots several months ago and have opportunity to use them often. Its a rubberized boot and it should be assumed to wear as such. Not much in the way of breathablity but more comfortable than expected. I have a very wide foot and these have not created any issues. My only complaint is that the boot is difficult to get on and of as a result of the top cuff not opening up as much as it should. Tough to tuck your pant legs inside. These offer no insulation but sizes do not run small which is good thing if you want to put cold weather socks on.

Ill-fitting boot meant for people with people with tiny legs
All my boots are size 10. The boots I received were not size 10 despite stating such on the label. The result was a a boot that constantly rubbed against my heel (destroying my socks), and was an overall pain to wear.Putting the boot on in the first place was just as much of a nightmare because they were too tight around the calf. I had to actually cut the back just to fit in my foot. While I do perform a lot of walking throughout the week, I wouldn't say that my calves are that much larger than average. So the fact that they were irrationally tight is absolutely nonsensical.Unfortunately I purchased these for a college course, and didn't need to used them until after the return date had passed. If I had known better I would have returned these in a heartbeat.

DURABLE, WATERPROOF BOOT!
The first use of these boots was for working in a wet lawn and working in a large 8in deep water puddle. My feet stayed completely dry throughout both efforts. This is the Main reason I purchased these boots is because waterproof rubber boots previously purchased the local outdoor equipment stores just didn’t hold up & nothing aggravates me more than wet or cold feet during/after a job. I also plan to use them when I use my chainsaw which is what they’re made for. These boots are DURABLE & keep your feet DRY while working in standing water. I haven’t had a running chainsaw contact them yet, but from their build and what I’ve experienced so far in wearing them I would feel a lot better wearing them than not. A very good product.

Not for my wide feet - Returned
Even though I followed recommendations from others who bought these, I found the width too narrow and the toe box pinching. Two pairs of socks on the right foot made for a barely comfortable snug fit. I could only wear one pair on the left foot. A little time out in the field left me limping in pain from a swollen left little toe. And getting the boots off afterward took the wife pulling hard or a long, hard tug, alternating hands and using the other foot on the heel. The laces on the top were useless, unnecessary.Trying the boots on a carpet indoors didn't give an accurate judgement on fit, which is why I didn't return the pair within the trial period. I should have. Now, I doubt I will get a full refund. Lesson learned: don't buy shoes/boots online. If you have wide feet, I recommend you steer away from these. By design they must be stiff around the foot, and without wide and half-sizes, those without "perfect" feet aren't going to be satisfied with this boot.

Not The Boot It Was Once
Viking has evidently turned to a lower cost manufacturer for this boot, perhaps the same manufacturer that produces the similar Husqvarna boot. The problem: The brush collar is TOO TIGHT on the thigh. A brush collar is supposed to be wide enough for the pants leg to go inside. Viking chain saw boots, at least five pair purchased in twenty years, have always allowed ample room for the pants leg. Although the boots are very heavy and tend to run large (size), they are durable and comfortable (arch and ankle support) in rough conditions. But with this latest purchase I have had to slice the brush collar vertically on the backside (laces) to provide room for my pants legs.My recommendation to Viking: Return to previous brush collar manufacturing standards and offer a "no steel toe" version of this boot to reduce weight. With a wider brush collar opening and a reduction of 1 to 1.5 pounds per boot, this would possibly be the best boot in the woods. I have worn Viking boots year-round in the south for over twenty years, with and without caulks.

Great Chainsaw Boots!
These boots are a little heavy, but that's to be expected with such great protection. Even though these are heavy they're very comfortable, have worn them all day cutting with no problem! They are made a little bigger so you can easily wear wool socks with them. I love mine and would recommend to anyone!

Size
They are heavy! Wow are they heavy, it’s a leg work out wearing them all day but they are surprisingly comfortable, I’ve worn them for 8 hour stretches cutting with no issues. I’ve glanced the saw off them while limbing down trees and nothing more than a scuff. They are really tight around the calf, I am unable to get any pants in side them. They run slightly large in the foot, I suspect maybe a size big but I wear wool socks always inside so it works for me. I would be concerned buying a smaller size because of tightness in the calf region. The strings are just for looks as the boot fits skin tight in the leg. I understand why people cut the boots there to get them on. Overall I am very pleased with them

Comfort
Very comfortable and extremely durable, it hard to find a good pair of boots that will last as long as these ones, the only downfall is they are heavy but at the end of the day when you put your normal boots on it’s like walking a cloud
