Field Sport Inc LR308 .308 Stainless Steel Thread Protector, 5/8x24 Pitch, 936

Does what it's designed to do and looks good. Quality threads, goes on smooth and protects my barrel threads and crown at the range. As another reviewer stated, it does have an oil/grease coating on it. I just cleaned it up with some carb cleaner, wiped it down, and then coated the threads on my barrel with some TW-25b before I installed. Works good as a stand alone or until I find a flash suppressor I like. Good value as it comes with the crush washer. I'd recommend it and I'd buy another if the need ever arises.

Works perfectly on my bull barrel 6.5 creedmoor. Glad I didn't waste more money for the same thing.Not sure what all the crying about the oil is for? It came off in 10 seconds with a spray of meangreen. You're getting it for a gun.. and you're sniveling about a little oil?

Good for protecting the threads on an expensive threaded barrel in case you're between muzzle devices. I wouldn't really shoot much with it but assume it's really not intended for that. An inexpensive protective device vs. some "brand name" protectors that do the same thing.

It fits the barrel good. Finish is not too desirable but it will do it's job which is to protect the threads on my barrel when I'm not using the brake.

I bought this thread protector specifically because it said that it was .936" OD. I was planning on turning it down on a lathe to match my barrel OD of .922". However, when the part showed up it measures only .912". Other than that it does what it's supposed to do which is to protect the threads.

It's good! The only thing that is worth noting is that it comes caked in some sort of oil or grease. I rinsed it off and put some oil on it to help get it on to my rifle. Be careful not to cross-thread it to your muzzle though.

Looks great, size is spot on, just needs the crush washer which was missing on the black version as well.

Threaded on my .300 blk barrel perfectly. Great for protecting the threads when no muzzle device is on
