SCHMETZ Jersey Ball Point Sewing Machine Needles – Stretch Knit & Universal Supplies, Size 80/12, 5-Needle Cards, Pack of 1

I have used these for fleece and stretch fabric with very good results. Not sure if that is what they were designed for, but they worked well Have tried other brands of sewing machine needles, but will stick with Schmetz for all my sewing in the future.

It was a nightmare trying to alter T-shirts, knit tops, and athletic pants. No matter the machine setting, I kept getting snags, irreparable needle holes, broken threads, and crumpled or uneven seams. These specialized “knit” needles were the answer and alterations are easy and quick. They perfect fit & compatible in my 40 year old Kenmore. Sturdy/durable. Little plastic case keeps them well-protected & perfectly sharp. . A great value considering I’d otherwise have to pay a tailor.

I tried using standard needles on some stretchy material, and it wasn't going well. A friend who is an accomplished sewer told me to get these needles, and it made all the difference. If you are sewing any stretchy material, I recommend getting them. They are well worth it.
