Kotaro Pro Bamboo Kendama Toy with Extra String

Fun and easy to use
For the price, this kendama toy is extremely well made and great! I have had other kendama toys in the past and this was the first one that I got that was mainly bamboo. The other kendama toys had paint that would chip off after repeated use, but this one is smooth and looks is as good as new even after a couple of months of use, which is a definitive positive. It's a pretty typical kendama toy, but it's very durable and can do a wide variety of tricks, making it a perfect gift for beginners. The only problems would be that the bamboo is rough at some points, especially in the interior of the cups, and the string isn't necessarily the best quality, but for the price, it's well worth it. Using it is challenging, but the tricks are completely do-able after some practice. It's a fun way to spend some time, particularly for kids, and a toy that I recommend for anyone who is interested.

Fun and challenging, highly recommended
Highly recommended! We bought two of these for Christmas gifts, for a 12-year-old boy and 10-year-old-girl. The bamboo is very resilient to the constant collisions that are inevitable, and the string has shown no signs of weakening either. There isn't much else to say about the physical characteristics, but the entertainment factor was more than I expected. No exaggeration, the kids spent at least a couple of hours playing with these every day for the next week, and the whole family still plays with them 3 months later. They sit in the living room and will catch my eye every so often and I just have to try again. Guests enjoy trying their hand at it as well. It doesn't take long before you start getting the hang of it and getting cocky. The family all thought we were doing pretty well until my Japanese sister-in-law decided to embarrass us. :) Of course, searching online for videos of people playing will make you feel even less skillful. I highly recommend it though—you will be amazed at the talent and inspired to keep practicing.

Great wood toy
When my sons loved playing with Kendamas, this was a basic beautiful toy. Get them away from electronics for sure! It helps with coordination and brain development. It should be mandatory for all kids.

It’s harder than you think.
My kids are better at this than I am. I’m pretty trash at it. But even they struggle. It looks pretty simple and straightforward, it is not… which is what makes it so great.

Who needs fortnite!?
Who needs fortnite when you have a Kendama?!? Ditch the xbox and the playstation and buy a kendama! In a world where everyone needs to be online and connected. Disconnect and buy a Kendama! The amount of joy you are going to experience with a Kendama is infinite.

Fun at first...
Purchased for older teenager. Challenging and fun at first;however, while you try to master thewood ball hits off the side of your hand. This becomes painful after a while and the wood dentsfrom the wood ball. Quality is solid, smooth, and easy to hold. Case is great for storage.

Well Made and Fun
This is very well made and solid. This 'toy' is incredibly fun! Both my 11 year old son and I enjoy it. It is very challenging and rewarding as you get better with time and practice. You know it's fun when the boy puts his phone down to play with this (and won't give it up easily). I'll have to buy a second one for him.The extra string is nice. Both adults and kids can grip this well. YouTube has some good videos for beginners. I don't think I would recommend for little tikes. It is a ball on a string and would hurt if a small kids whacks himself with one.
