Grant's Dissector: 9781609136062: Medicine & Health Science Books @ desertcart.com Review: ... school and I can say that this was a great book to use in my 1st year during Anatomy ... - Currently in my 2nd year of Med school and I can say that this was a great book to use in my 1st year during Anatomy dissection lab. Tells you step by step where and what tissue to cut. I wish it was a bit more descriptive on specific tissue textures and on what the tissue should look like. But I guess it's fair to say most cadavers won't all be alike. Overall super helpful in lab! Review: The Gold Standard For A Dissector - This is the standard dissector for use in a medical school or any other health related profession. It is clear and concise, but be aware that it is helpful to supplement it with an atlas such as Netter's in order to best learn the structures in the lab.

Thorough and logical step-by-step format
This book was required by my school so I had to buy it. But it is a good reference, thorough and laid out well. I would like to see more lifelike pictures included. I have to cross reference with another text. But good for the price.

Dissection Guide
I had to buy this book for my gross anatomy course, it gets the job done especially when you're lost in lab. Reading it is like reading a cookbook though. It is well written and the diagrams are excellent and quite helpful for general studying though.

Great resource for anatomy
The photographs have been staged and lit extremely well, making identification and learning very easy. Seems to be more useful for visceral components than musculature, but you can't have everything. Overall a wonderful and unique book!

It probably is useful as a guide for performing the dissection
I purchased this book because it was "required" for my anatomy lab in medical school. It probably is useful as a guide for performing the dissection, but it is hardly useful at all to identify structures. Many of the minor structures are not listed in the index even though they are (sometimes) labeled on the diagrams. So, I have to flip through the section for the region and try to find the term among the many labels. Also, some structures are in boldface and described with text, but never shown on a diagram. If you already know what you're doing, it's probably fine. If you're a newbie, you're going to be doing a lot of cross-referencing.

Buy if you really need!
Copy I received was brand new, and no formaldehyde smell. Easy shipping! - Listed as a "required" book for my class but we ended up deviating from this so much that I did not use it as much as I would have hoped, almost wish I did not buy it, but it does have good descriptions and explanations

Decent text, possibly purchase this if you need to reference it to prep before or after anatomy lab or a practicum.
In my medical school, we use this text as our primary reference in cadaver lab, and it does the job. The text and instructions can be confusing and wordy at times, but usually it explains things clearly and the diagrams are colorful and top-notch. I am unsure as to how helpful it will be in your curriculum if this is not your primary text, though.
