Like the title says its one hell of blade for the price, its the 2nd one ive used on a push mower and leauges ahead of stock blades! Will never use anything else besides oregon g3 series of blades again on my mowers.

Since it was time to sharpen my blade I decided to buy a spare for my Craftsman lawn mower. After doing a lot of research online, I purchased the "precision cut" blade from Sears Parts. I found that it cut the same as the original and decided to do more research and purchased this one.. Most of the reviews that I found were touchy feely (ie. I felt that this worked better etc.) but did not tell me why this blade worked better than the original. I thought that I would point out what I observed. Most of the newer lawn mowers come with a high lift mulcher blade installed. The manufacturer achieved this by offsetting the cutting edge so that only 2" of cutting blade actually touches the lawn and rest of the cutting edge is bent upwards to a higher level to recut the loose grass. The high lift is achieved by a 15 degree bend at the tail end of the blade causing lift like a fan. On the other hand, Oregon does it differently. First, the cutting edge is straight across the blade for about 4.5". More than twice the cutting surface making for a more even cut. This is more like the older lawnmowers and is quite obvious in the appearance of the final cut. They achieve the mulching effect by the vertical cutting edges on the rear of the blade (see picture). Since these cutters are raised, they also provide the fan lift effect. Other observations: The blade was a little long for my lawnmower (hitting the shroud). I had to remove (grind off) about 3/32" from the outer edge. However, I also had to do this with the Sears blade. If you have the tools and skill, this is quite easy. Just take a little off each side at a time and repeat. If you take the same amount each time you will need very little balancing if any. As stated elsewhere, this is a thick and heavy blade. I feel that this adds to the flywheel effect causing it to run smoother. This new blade felt like it was dull when I got it. I found that this is because the Powder Coat paint is so thick that it protected the sharp edge. It wears away quite quickly from the edge after a little use. I also have to say something about Amazon. They are one of the only internet shippers that Box everything. Even the lawn mower blade was boxed. I've receive many things from others that just stuck a shipping label on the retail box. I got so tired of waiting for the free shipping that I signed up for "Prime" shipping. Now stuff arrives in two days. I am very pleased with this blade and will buy another in the future. I hope someone finds this useful.

I bought this blade as a replacement for the original OEM blade for my Craftsman 7.0 HP push lawn mower. The original blade was damaged when I ran my mower up onto the wood edging of the lawn. Before I purchased this blade, I looked at all the Craftsman OEM blades and other brands available on Amazon or at Sears In the end, I decided to pay a bit extra to buy this one and am very happy with the purchase.A few key things worth pointing out:1. I loved the design in the photos with the swooping cutters angled up to further cut the grass clippings while they are falling down; or so I thought; hence, I bought it.2. The build quality and finish of this blade is extremely high - it is Made in the USA and has a nice weight to it. Also, it was a perfect fit for my Craftsman lawn mower - do make sure to match your Craftsman blade part # with the ones listed for this Gator blade.3. The blade came quickly and was packed nicely. The blade edges didn't look sharp, at first, but I resisted the urge to sharpen them. I just put it on my lawnmower to see how it performed and took the opportunity to also clean the lawnmower thoroughly and oil the different hinges / springs on the lawnmower.With this blade on, my lawnmower ran very smoothly - better than my OEM blade, I should say. Most importantly, take a look at the attached photo - I mulched the grass here! There are no clumps of grass anywhere on the lawn, like I used to get from my original Craftsman blade - the lawn looks as if I bagged the grass :)Bottom line, if you are looking for a high quality mulching blade, I would highly recommend paying a few bucks more and getting this Oregon Gator Mulcher blade. You will love it!

I received my order a couple days ago and installed it on my Husqvarna LC 221AH AWD lawn mower. It fit perfectly, even though the original blade had a star pattern, it lined up perfectly with the studs on the shaft. It comes with an almost blunt edge, so I sharpen it. The blade performs outstandingly. Because the new blade is set at a steeper angle than the original blade, I had to adjust the height of the lawnmower to maintain the cut level I wanted. No more bagging grass clippings or clumps of grass left behind on the lawn. I wish I had made the switch 3 years ago when I brought the mower.

Watched a few youtube videos on blades and this was a top one. It does a great job mulching as advertised. Small pieces so you can really load up your bag before having to dump it.

This blade was easy to install on my Husqvarna lawnmower and produces a noticeably-smoother cut compared to the old, beat-up blade. This blade looks almost identical to the original blade that came with the mower (minus all the chips and dings in the old blade from hitting rocks), and works well.Regards, Mark
