Berberine is definitely one of the most powerful supplements out there. One of the best supplements for managing blood sugar, second to ALA. And ALA is in this blend! Then they added some GSE for extra control. This combo is amazing and has some serious synergestic effects. Berberine also helps with fatty liver, brain power, heart health, prostate, kidneys, and metabolism. Also is a pretty strong antifungal (helps fight mold, for example). I personally take it for blood sugar. It's summertime and I'm a bit of a fruit addict. I eat at least 10 servings of fruit a day. Oops. This really helps keep my blood sugar and mind steady. I take 2 caps in the morning and 2 caps in the afternoon. With or without food. Half life is only 3-4 hours, so you should try to consume it so it blankets your eating window.

This product reduced my A1c by 0.3 in three months taken twice a day. That got me to normal levels which is good. So 1000mg with ALA. I’ll update on another few months whether it still goes down. I was told by a nutritionist that this is more immediate in controlling blood sugars but something like Alamax is better for A1C. This is more expensive than other Berberine supplements but I trust the Douglas brand.

I've only used this product a few days but I can already tell a difference. I have symptoms of PCOS which are weight gain, acne, and tiredness. The first day I used this product I took it in the evening. Typically I go to bed at 1030pm (I'll want to go to bed at 9pm) but this night I stayed up until 2am!! This definitely works but I decided I should take this in the morning! My acne is starting to fade and my fingers are crossed that this is the reason why! I no longer weigh myself as it's depressing when you work out 6 times a week and still gain weight....but I'm hoping that with continued use of this product I'll be able to lose some weight. I also no longer feel foggy. I just feel better. It's hard to describe. I was taking probiotic pills to help balance me but I think I'm going to ditch those and only take this. I haven't felt this good in decades. I'm so happy I found this product. Thank you! Susan

UPDATE: I have decided to switch to a different berberine supplement due to the absurdly high price of this one. This is a good quality supplement, but it's just not worth $50 for 30-day supply. I am tired of this kind of senseless price gouging. There are other high quality options for half the price. I have been using this product (2x daily) for about 6 months and it has been an amazing addition to my supplement stack. It has greatly improved my GI function, even better than the probiotic I was taking, which I no longer even need to take. It also improved my blood glucose lab results and other metabolic markers. The only downside is the high price and the fact that it has gone on backorder twice since I started using it, which caused me to have to purchase a different product that wasn't quite as effective. Douglas Labs needs to do a better job of maintaining availability.
