NOW Foods Supplements, Probiotic-10™, 50 Billion, with 10 Probiotic Strains, Strain Verified, 50 Veg Capsules

I purchased the NOW Foods Probiotic-10, 50 Billion, 50 Vcaps from Now Foods. I have been dealing with gastrointestinal issues for a while and my doctor suggested to take a Probiotic daily to create good flora in my stomach. I did a lot of research before selecting this brand and in my research this brand has all the strains that you need. Many other brands have some of these strains but not all and as comprehensive as this one. I have noticed a difference as I have been taking these for over a year now and my gastro issues have really quieted down. These are a great price compared to others and a high potency is what you really need. If you struggle with diarrhea or constipation give these a try I think you might be surprised. I do keep mine refrigerated to increase longevity and I know that some people were worried because it says to keep refrigerated and they send these products non-refrigerated. The company has stated in answers to people’s questions “these pills are freeze dried, fresh from their freezers in the morning the day we ship it to you, tested for stability well over 110 degrees and have to reach upward of 128 before damage occurs.” So you don’t have to worry, but to extend shelf life refrigerate them. I also like these pills because they are gluten free and although I do not have celiac, I choose a gluten free lifestyle to eliminate Gastro problems. I used to get 225 billion from my doctor, but it was so expensive. Now I just take 2 of these every day I did a lot of research on what strains you need and the quantity. This brand has all the strains recommended. I am a big proponent of all now supplements This is a great product. No side effects, easy to use, solid ingredients, good pill size, good value, lasts all day.

I never used NOW products before. So far I have had two, and I am liking them. This product I have only used a couple days now but I can tell you two things about it. When I eat a large portion of sugary things I get acid reflux that night. I've only done once so far while taking these but I can say I did not have the acid reflux. I would not have been looking for this had I not read it in another review. Also I have noticed that when I wake in the mornings I don't have as bad as I used to the awful taste in my mouth, I would assume it has probably lessened morning bad breath. I also bought a second different kind probiotic, that says it survives stomach acid, but it only just arrived. I thought I would take one of each at night & mornings, in hopes more get into my system. But I can say that at least some of this NOW had been getting into my system since I saw these improvements before the second brand bottle arrived. If these NOW continue to prevent acid reflux when I eat larger portions of sugary things I will be re-purchasing. (UPDATE: It's been about a week or so now, and I will be re-ordering this "NOW Probiotic-10, 50 Billion" product, as it has continued to stop the acid reflux. I did not buy it for this purpose, but it was a WONDERFUL surprising side effect. Also I don't give 5 stars in general, if I am happy with something I give it 4 stars max. But I 'am' upping this to 5 stars as has exceeded my expectations.) One last thing. From reading the reviews it is apparent you need to keep these refrigerated. Because of their sensitivity to heat I decided only to buy one bottle of each (instead of stocking up). But I am thinking the better time of year is winter to buy these, as they can sit in the summer heat in the mail box for a time or hours. I would like to stock up in the cooler weather, but I am afraid their potency would diminish. So I guess I am stuck with ordering them monthly and will just have to watch out for the mail to arrive. NOW is the brand we have always preferred for supplements. This one contained what my husband was looking for. No complaints.

As far as probiotics go, it is pretty much like the rest of them. It has a good blend of different bacteria and other things that make it work. The capsules are very easy to swallow with no detectable flavor or after taste. I am taking them to balance the effects of a higher fiber intake that my doctor recommended. The only reason I took a point off in my rating is, after you break the seal on the bottle the lid is a total piece of junk. While it does sort of snap shut it is very loose and will allow moisture (like humidity of the atmosphere) easily enter the bottle. The cap is attached to the neck of the bottle my a bit of plastic that makes it awkward to hold the lid out of the way while dumping a capsule into the hand. When you open the cap and release it, it springs back to about a 2/3 closed position. I can live with the awkwardness of the lid position, but the fact that the lid doesn't seal tightly enough could be a deal breaker. Aside from the potential moisture infiltration it also makes it very easy to accidentally pop the lid open.

These are great probiotics for making coconut milk or soymilk yogurt.

I usually try to be keep my reviews objective, but forgive me if I get a little fluffy. Wow, this is the first supplement I've ever taken that had a DEFINITE positive effect on me. I originally made this purchase because my stomach always seemed unsettled. I struggled with gas and a chronic blocked feeling, to varying degrees. Well, upon taking this, it is much more rare that I go to bed with that "blocked" feeling. Also, I am not gassy to anywhere NEAR the same extent. I no longer feel like I have to leave social events early. Honestly, I am incredibly thankful for this. . . I will take these until the day I die. When I started running low, I started taking them every other day, and lo and behold, the positive effects diminished. So I guess it's not a good idea to skip a day. Oh well. These are still way cheaper than Align (which supposedly has the best science behind it, but did not work nearly as well as Now's product). To be fair, I combined this with a Low FODMAP diet for much of my regimen. I even feel like I have SLIGHTLY more energy throughout the day since taking these. I hope things continue to improve. Treating issues relating to digestion/fatigue/vague autoimmune issues is NEVER simple. But I'll take the small victories and gladly commend a product that delivers.

These probiotics have been a godsend to me. After a month long course of a triple antibiotic regimen, pregnancy, and two stomach viruses, I had a series of GI issues. Initially I struggled with upper GI problems (chronic nausea, reflux) which over the next 12 months progressed to chronic IBS symptoms. Some days were so bad I was terrified to leave the house. I ended up having an endoscopy, a CT scan, and every other test imaginable because I had lost a tremendous amount of weight. I was loosely diagnosed with IBS and sent on my way. The symptoms were so debilitating I was starting to get depressed. Finally I started researching probiotic supplements and after 6 more months of trying various different products with no success, I cam across this one. Within a week I could leave the house without stressing. Within a month I was able to eat most foods again (I had to restrict my diet pretty extensively because my stomach could not handle much). Within three months I finally started getting my energy back (probably because I was finally absorbing what I ate). I will say that the whole process took a lot of trial and error, and while one probiotic might work for one person, another might not work for you. There's a lot to be discovered about the specific types of imbalances, and it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what combination of bacterial strains will work for you. But for what it's worth, I would give this product a million stars if I could.
