Cutting second tunnel may be required.
Worked as expected. I went through outside R/R siding, and inside 5/8 sheetrock. Did not need instruction, but did read what was there. That info is sufficient. Frame-out wall cavity. The long screws provide will not reach through to secure two sides of unit together. Also, the plastic tunnel is soft. Better to have that rest on a wood base. Framing not a problem if you have normal 2 X 4 studded wall. (Use 2 X 4.) I needed two tunnels to achieve proper outside overhang. This required taking nearly an inch off the second tunnel. Not a problem using 1" X 30" belt sander. Mark your cut with masking tape. Take your time. Don't get burnt.

Useful !!!
Our house was built right after WWII and is well insulated with thick walls. With this extender, we could put the cat door thru’ the wall which is where we wanted it !

Works just fine
I had this unit put through a wall in the house. I can't get it to recognize my cats chip but since we have no other critters coming in and out I'm fine with that. There's trouble shooting info in the directions and I'm sure that could be fixed. The flap works well and keeps the cold air out. I have found that even though the extenders made it easy to put through a wall I would only recommend doing that it IF you buy one bigger than your cat needs. Joey (the cat) has a hard time getting through the long narrow tunnel. If you are putting it through a door it's a great product. Also, I learned the hard way that the bottom needs to be at least 5 inches from the floor. Makes it much easier for said cat to use. I know this review is only for the extender but wanted to let you know how well the entire system works. Extenders work great.

SureFlap Tunnel Extender works!
SureFlap tunnel extender was just what we needed when adding insulation to the wall where the SureFlap pet door was already installed. Our kitty just has 2 more inches of tunnel to travel, and more time to look outside before she leaps. Easy to install, arrived on time and in perfect condition.
