Cooks Sweet Potatoes in Minutes!!
I may have written a previous review for this great microwave potato cooker, as I received my second one yesterday. I found it helpful to own two of them so that while one is nuking the first set of potatoes I can scrub the second set of potatoes clean. I make mashed sweet potatoes in batches, so using two of these back to back gets the job done quickly. Both cannot fit into the microwave at the same time.I do turn the potatoes over after a few minutes of nuking so that they get evenly cooked...just be very careful not to get steam burns from lifting the lid after you quickly pull them out of the microwave to turn them. The little spikes on the bottom of the cooker that you place the potatoes on, also ensures that they're evenly cooked AND that the consistency is perfect! They are soft enough to mash immediately, because I leave the skin on them since that's where a majority of the nutrients are -- and since I bake primarily sweet potatoes, it saves a ton of time -- sweet potatoes seem to take about twice as long to bake the old fashioned (oven or toaster oven) way than the regular variety.I honestly wasn't sure whether this gadget would work so well, but it does! Who's got time to sit around and wait over an hour to bake 6 or 8 potatoes, when it can be done in about 20 minutes? Of course that's two batches -- it only takes about 10 minutes for 3 or 4 potatoes! My next time-saver gadget to try is a bacon microwave cooker. Not sure if that's the same company as this one.

Disappointed
This potato cooker cooks the potato, problem, the potato puncture spikes MELTS! This is the second one to do that...can possibly contaminate the potato with plastic...I didn't take a chance...threw the potato out! Still deciding if it is worth the trouble to return to Amazon again.

Pretty Good!!
Potatoes come out good most of the time, had only one that came out bad. other than that it is pretty good and I love baked potatoes and this gets them done fast!!

No more plastic wrap needed!
This is a very nice cooker. The plastic was of a substantial thickness, and the height (or depth if you prefer) was able to accommodate all but the most gargantuan of potatoes(I'm talking small football sized potatoes). It steams the potatoes very well, and even with what I am assuming are two "safety relief valve" pinholes(very small) on top of the lid on opposite ends, there is more than enough steam retained inside the cooker to get the job done. It does accommodate 4 medium potatoes very well, but perhaps they could make a model that would allow you to steam one of the truly giant Idaho potatoes. A slightly taller lid should be all that is needed to do that. It cleans up very easily(but I don't know if it is dishwasher safe), and should I lose or somehow damage the cooker somehow(the plastic is very tough and drop-resistant) I will definitely buy it again.Highly recommended.

Very Nice, Saves Time
Excellent, easy to use. After a few tries, you'll discover the precise cooking time with your particular microwave. We put ours on the "potato" setting which is for 3.5 minutes, and we need about 1 - 1 1/2 more minutes... this time works for 2 medium size potatoes which are cut up into quarters. We're sure that many people probably cook the potato whole, but we prefer to cut it up.Caveat: if you cut the chunks too small and overcook them, the results are a hard, rubbery texture.Cooking TIP - you can add oil and dried herbs before putting this in the microwave. It works quite well, but the bottom portion does get a bit stained.

Very easy to use for a one to two person meal ...
This container works exactly as it says it will with any potatoe. Very easy to use for a one to two person meal and no hot oven on for an hour or more. Just follow the directions and pop in the microwave for recommended time. Viola done! I highly recommend and I have the corn cob one as well and love it just as much!!!
