Quality Boot, but Didn't realize KYB steering damper did not have provision for boot
The boot was great quality, but when I ordered the steering damper by KYB, I didn't realize it did not have the proper provision for the boot. This is strange as the damper is designed for trucks and every other damper/shock I've ever purchased had the provision for a boot. Only exception are dampers/shocks that have a protector already on the rod end...Old Man Emu for example.Again, the boot was great quality! I'll likely change the damper out in a few months and go with one geared towards the 4x4 industry. Then, I can use the boot!In case someone doesn't know what I mean by "a provision for a boot", there is a rod end and a tube end. The tube end is the fat end which contains the piston, seal and oil, etc. The rod end has the chromed metal rod that moves in and out of the tube. On the tube end, there is usually a round metal plate about 1.5 inches or so in diameter. It is mounted where the rod is welded into the "eye" (the big hole at the end of a shock). The fat end of the boot slips over the cylinder(tube) and attaches with a zip tie and the smaller end has a crease that sort of slips around the round, flat metal on the rod end. The boot protects the rod from debris, dirt, mud, water, etc., and will usually, extend the life of the shock/damper.

Fits WK2 Grand Cherokee if you know the secret
When I first received these I thougth they did not fit my WK2 Grand Cherokee. However, they fit better than the OEM ones. Here is what you need to know:The end with the small hole slides over the Jounce bumber INSIDE of the shock mount. The OEM ones fit over the outside of the shock mount. This was different enought to mess me up into thinking that they do not fit but they do and the application is better. It is as simple as that! Not obvious from the directions but simple if you know - now you do.These are better than the OEM because they seal at the top AND at the bottom with a cable tie so they keep the dust out better. They are flexible enough so we need to see how they hold up over time but I suspect they will be fine.I went from angry to super happy with the purchase as soon as I figured out the fitment. In my case they were paired with Bilstein 4600 shocks and fit just fine.Would definately purchase again.

Works just fine.
I bought these for my 1980 Yamaha tt250. They fit right on without a problem. They are very easy to install, and seem to be made out of quality material. I like them for the ease of installing, but with that they were a bit longer. They do kinda make my bike look goofy being so short. They get the job done and since my bike is 36 years old, I guess I can get over the looks. I would recommend these for anyone who is just needing them to get the job done.

Protects by Steering Dampener
Such a simple product yet a must have. My steering dampener on my truck needs to be replaced annually due to it being covered in dirt/mud/sand/salt. This protects my shock/dampener and it fits nice and tight. Flexible rubber material an appears to fit most shock produced for Monroe shocks/dampeners.
