This is a fantastic addition to our deck. After owning one that we've had over our back yard deck for several years (without a single problem), we bought another one for the side of our house. I think this is a review for the one we purchased last – but it looks exactly the same as our older one (same manufacturer). Essentially, the new one looks exactly the same as the old one — they both look as-new. It has withstood many sunny summers, heat up to +100°F, rain, light snow, wind, more wind, really windy wind, all without a single fault. We take it down only when there is predicted tornado weather, or when snow season arrives. Not one seam shows even the slightest bit of fraying. We like the Sand color, as it warms up the color temperature (2700°K(?)) underneath during the bluest (6500°K) parts of the day.

Our house came with an interior courtyard off the front door. It’s a beautiful design and we enjoy the courtyard except for the summer months. Living in high desert northern Nevada, the sun can make the courtyard feel like the surface of the planet Mercury. It gets so hot you can’t hardly walk across the tile barefoot. Forget about sitting out there except for early morning before sunrise. The residual heat makes evenings unbearable also. So I wanted to find some sort of sunshade and came across this product. I debated between a square or triangle design, but ultimately went with square to give the most coverage. I like this seller cause I could practically custom order the exact size I needed. I measured the courtyard and bought a foot short on each side per their suggestions and it worked out perfectly! This product is very very well-made. The seams are incredibly strong and the reinforced stitching around the four D rings are much appreciated. I installed this myself and it was incredibly easy. I drilled a pilot hole and installed 3/16 inch eyelets into the wood blocking under the eaves. For now I’m using the fabric ties that came with the sunshade. Maybe someday in the future I might install turnbuckles. But for now I plan to keep this up just during the summer months. Spring winter and fall are very comfortable, and the sun sits lower so it’s not as hot. But June through September will be the right time of year to put this up. I’m very happy with this product and it has transformed our courtyard from Vesuvius to the garden of Eden!

It is a good overhead tarp it is made very good. It will not break on you. It will last for a long period of time. Hopefully a couple years. The material is a strong polyester and the sun protection is a medium just because a lot of sun still does get in. It doesn’t fully protect you from the sun cause it is ment for shade putting it up was very easy. You just have to attach the bracket to something sturdy that won’t move and hang it and thickness of the material is better than average. I would recommend

Most sun shades are black color which traps heat, but this one is a lighter color which reflects heat, making it cooler to stand below as compared with a black sun shade. However, it might not be super durable if it’s really windy.

I’ve had items like this before, but this one I love because of the thickness and material that lets the water drain through, it’s been up for several thunderstorms and it’s been very durable and sturdy.

This is amazing. Our deck was unusable in the summer due to the sun blaring down. We installed this and it worked perfectly. The most amazing part is that it withstood 2 really bad rain storms with heavy downpours and strong winds. We had our doubts when we put it up but it really does work and for the price you can't beat it!

My main issue with this product is its UV protection. It's described as providing 95% protection. In my experience, this is not accurate. As for the quality of the D-rings and stitching, the product is consistent with its online description. The charcoal colour is a light to medium grey, I was expecting a darker colour.

The mesh for this shade sail was defective, with several large holes. When completing the return process, the seller did not proved a postage-paid return label. And a reminder to myself to always check the "ships from" info. This product comes from the US, with additional return postage required.
