Worth it!!
First, these are very confusing to install if you try to follow the directions. I was looking up words in the dictionary!! And I still could not figure it out! It came with two brackets and two plates. I thought I had it figured out, but then realized the plates did not seem right, and I just gave up on them. Once I decided to just forget the instructions and the plates, and just use the brackets, it was much easier. The brackets give you four oval holes (two low, two medium height) and I just screwed those straight into my door, after measuring to try to get the fit right. Because the bracket holds are ovals, you can adjust the door height up or down a bit. But if you raise it, then there's the issue of whether the force of the screw heads pushing the bracket into the wood of the door is strong enough to hold it in place long-term. To increase the pressure, and stability, I added small washers to each screw. I'm not sure I needed them, but the result seems very stable, and as you can see from the doors looking like they are in the "right" place, it was reasonably adjustable.Oh, I did reverse the brackets on one side. Though this system is for a space of 9 5/8" wide, I squeezed it in where I only had a 9" opening on one side (maybe 9 1/4" on the other side). On the narrower side, the brackets the "right" way stuck out just a bit and made it harder to get the door closed all the way. Reversing them fixed this, and it does not appear to affect overall stability. The bottom line is if you get the pull out system (which I love), you MUST get the door mount bracket because it is SOOO good to have it truly pull-out, even if the instructions and system are too complicated / confusing. You will figure it out, or figure out a way around it like I did.

Easy to install and align for the most part
This kit does exactly what it is intended to do; mount a cabinet door onto the sliding rails of an in cabinet trash bin. It was pretty easy to mount, it took me 30-45 minutes to get everything just right. The biggest thing to be mindful of actually starts back when you mount the rails; you need to make sure the front end of the rails, when closed/retraced, lines up almost right up to the opening of the cabinet. If not, these mounts do not have any adjustments to allow you to compensate for it. Also, the left and right rails need to be pretty even with each other as the tilt of mounting the door is not really adjustable. For example, if the rails aren't mounted almost completely perpendicular to the front face of the cabinet and even with each other, you may have the one of the edges of the door hit the front of the cabinet before the opposite edge. But in terms of left/right, up/down mounting adjustments, you probably have about +/- 1/8" inch of play on either axis to make fine adjustments to line up the door. This is based on the size of the oblong screw holes in the mounting plates. This was plenty of play in my opinion. One final thing to remember, if your cabinet doors are thin, be careful with the included cabinet door mounting screws! You may need to get shorter ones so that they don't poke all the way through.Overall, the mounting plates are pretty simple, but I wish they had more fine adjustment options for all the axis of movement, hence docking one star.

Great for Custom Trash Cabinet
I used this to build my own custom trash cabinet. I used the existing face and bought some heavy duty slides from the local big box. Built the sled out of maple with a 3/4 inch plywood base. I paid around $20 for this part, $20 for slides, and $20 for lumber/other hardware. The trash cans were about $20 a piece here on Amazon. I had to custom build the sled because the same system (from the big box) retails around $200 plus with hanging cans (same brand as what I bought)--BUT I have an outlet box in the side of the island I was not willing to give up. The solution was to build a sled, anchor to some 2x2s that I scabbed onto the bottom of the cabinet which is MUCH sturdier than trying to attach to the facing of a side cabinet. I used a table saw, miter saw, and router to make this sled, but if you play your cards right you can get the plywood cut for you at the big box, and have the rails cut to size too and just put everything together with glue and screws. The router beading is a nice touch, but not necessary. Finished with a clear coat to keep out the inevitable nasties.

Good item - Difficult to install!
Worked exactly as it is meant to be used. The product itself deserves 5 stars - I took a star off due to the difficulty of installing. I’m a pretty hand and install all kinds of things. I have even used a system similar to this in another part of my home that I was easily able to install. The directions for this were horrible! I have a very difficult time understanding them and their drawings. I drilled 3 sets of holes in the back of my cabinet door before I was able to get the fit right. I’m convinced that the only reason that I did get it right is because I remove the whole unit from the cabinet and laid it on top of the door face down. Getting it right took me about 1-1-2 hours. I hope the manufacturer reads this review and considers including a paper template for this item.

Improve door bracket mounting
The plates that hold the door front move using the screws provided. (Phillips). I replaced them with 3/4" long setscrews and nuts so I could tighten things up. Set screws are grade 8 or better, thus strong.

works fine, sturdy, but not great instructions
The product does what it is meant for. I already had the rollout track and trash can installed so this provided attachment to the lower cabinet door. Frankly seems a bit expensive for a couple of metal brackets.Instructions were poorly written as other reviews noted. If you are handy you shouldn't have a problem.I made a modification by redrilling a couple of holes on one side if a bracket to fit my door. Consequently, it took me longer than I anticipated to install.

Worth more than it costs!
Super durable. Easy to install, although my husband did it and he's really handy. My favorite part is that the kids open and close this drawer all day long and it is holding up their garbage drawer slamming. I've already referred several friends to this Knape & Vogt set up. We should have done this years ago!

Flimsy construction???
Me and my wife redid or kitchen and already had the garbage slide out from this company but wanted to put a cupboard door for it, so we purchased this bracket. Bracket works great BUT you have to tighten the screws like crazy or they WILL come loose in time? I am actually thinking of taking everything to a welder to put a couple of tac welds to hold it better and from loosening? Also this seller charged wayyyy to much money for this item but we were stuck in finding anyone to sell it? It was sold out everywhere. The manufacturer in Michigan has retailed suggestion price of like $28 bucks while thses people charged $120 plus dollars wow robbery!

Exactly what I needed
Does exactly what it’s supposed to! Very happy with this set of brackets. Yes they are tricky to install, got it figured out kinda quick : No need to be a rocket scientist, simply use your brains : 2 brackets, 2 plates and a couple screws 😉 shouldn’t be a unsolvable puzzle. After installing the door on the brackets I realised that my slides needed a slight shift « adjustment ». Now I’m very happy with the front mount garbage bin setup!

Great instructions, given the huge variety of cupboard doors ...
Great instructions, given the huge variety of cupboard doors and sizes they are written to accommodate.I was missing some hardware--only had 2 machine screws but needed 4. Pretty annoying, because these are very specific screws.
