Yamamotoyama Iced Green Tea, Unsweetened, 0.8 oz

Great all-natural cold-brew
It tastes very authentic, similar to the ito-ens in bottles (and unlike bastardized soda-green-teas). You mix in the powder (matcha) and end up drinking it, which I prefer to teabags.True, it's not strong, so you end up mixing more if you prefer strong green tea, but w/o the use of flavorings, it's technically impossible to produce more potent cold-brew green tea. If you don't mind some flavorings, Twinings cold-brews are stronger for instance, and still very good tasting. But Yamamotoyama is, at the recommended (1 pack per 8 oz) ratio still light, refreshing and enjoyable.Try to use pure-sucralose powder (hundreds of times more potent than splenda)for sweetening, it's available on amazon and other sites. You can sweeten for as cheap as 1 cent per 1,5 quarts if you can handle the smidgen-calculations.

Excellent Product--mixes well, tastes great, so easy to use
I'm lazy. I've bought tons of green tea products over the years, but if I have to heat the water, mix the leaves (or bags), etc, wait for it to cool or pour over ice, I tend to flake and just reach for whatever ready-to-drink bottled or canned sort of beverage is handy, super-healthful or not. This solves my tea-sloth issues. Small foil packet that opens easily via a notch. Mix with water. Voila, a really nice cup of tea you can heat in the nuker if you like, or just go with it iced (or room temp) like I do.The tastes is very fresh, no bitterness (like I can get with making hot tea, cause I'm a tea idiot apparently). It mixes so well (no big clumps). Totally a quality product.I ordered three boxes the first time (August 12, 2008). I'm gonna order even more now, though I still have some left, just to have in stock in my pantry. Not only do I love this as a refreshing beverage (that can be punctuated with lime or lemon, or splashed with a healthful ounce or so of blueberry, cherry, acai, or pomegranate juice), but I started using it as my pre-workout caffeine punch. And know what: It works. Having this 35-40 minutes or so prior to my Pilates hour-long session makes me put in some extra effort so I'm wonderfully sore in the core the next day from the boost of energy. This is unsweetened (a plus), so you can sweeten it to your heart's delight, with honey or stevia or, if you're watching calories, Splenda or Equal. And, hey, yeah, sugar works, if you swing that sucrose way. And though I have a sweet tooth, I've been drinking this unsweetened. It really tastes so...greenly refreshing.Totally love this tea mix. I wish amazon carried it in their amazon prime catalog of products so I could get it with "free" 2 day shipping. Still, my experience with this supplier was great. No worries.Mir

Love this Green Tea
Wonderful iced green tea! This was the first green tea that I could drink. I hated all green tea and wanted ti drink it for the health benefits but adding sugar defeated the purpose. Ten years later I love most all green teas unsweetened but this is still one of my favorites! I tried the sweetened one and loved it too!

They changed the packet. Really a hassle
Been buying these for years and loved them. But, they changed the package and now it's unwieldy. These used to be in long, thin "tubes" and now they're giant rectangles. The others were much easier to use and carry in my purse. If you're not careful, it rips farther than you want while opening

Perfect cold drink for a hot day...
Yamamotoyama Iced Green Tea is great for a quick glass of iced tea. You don't have to go through the hassle of making a whole pitcher, you can just make one glass at a time. Very convenient. Here's how I do it: I keep a bunch of glasses (actually beer mugs) in the freezer and some purified water in the refrigerator. So, all I have to do is grab a frosty mug, pour in the powdered Yamamotoyama Green Tea powder from its individual packet (there are 20 in a box) and add cold water from the frig. Stir and drink. Ahhhhh! Refreshing!

I like that it is actual tea leaves dehydrated
This is my second order of 4 boxes. I like that it is actual tea leaves dehydrated, not dehydrated brewed tea. It dissolves extremely well and one packet makes two 12 ounce glasses for me, so it is definitely not thin in taste. I add a little lemon or lime juice to it and occasionally a small bit of stevia when my Southern roots take over and I need a glass of sort of Sweet Tea. When it was time to reorder, I didn't consider another brand.Good product.

Less flavor per packet than Stash brand. Expired too soon after shipping.
I thought more highly of this matcha (finely powdered tea leaves) tea before I tried the Stash brand. These boxes have 20 packets in them, vs 12 in a box of Stash, and the box is cheaper, but it turns out that one Stash packet is good for a 16 oz glass of water, whereas one Yamamotoyama packet is good for only 8 ozs. Thus I use 2 packets of Yamamotoyama in my 12 oz glass, which makes 10 glasses vs 12 glasses. Also, the tea leaves aren't quite as finely powdered as the tea leaves in a Stash packet (meaning the Stash tea is a higher grade of matcha), so some of them are more likely to fall out of suspension and sit at the bottom of the glass unless I drink it all quickly.I ordered several boxes of this tea and was surprised to discover that it had reached its best-by date 7 months later. The Stash matcha tea that I just got has a best-by date 1 year and 7 months from now.Still, if you want to use finely powdered matcha tea to make iced tea for the benefits of getting all the nutrients in the tea leaves themselves, this is certainly an OK brand. I wouldn't order a large quantity at a time, though. (I ordered 2 packs of 4 boxes each, which was too much for the earlier expiry date since I also drink Steaz brand canned unsweetened green tea with lemon. .)

Maltodextrin tea
I was disappointed to receive this product and learn that the first ingredient listed on the package is "Maltodextrin," followed by "100% Pure Powdered Green Tea," which suggests that tea is actually the lesser ingredient.
