Beautifully written and illustrated. Filled with lovely recipes and party ideas. The recipes are very easy to follow and it even shows how to create elegant flower arrangements. I’m delighted with my purchase. My only complaint is that I would have liked for the book to have more of everything! Especially cocktails. Either way, it’s an excellent purchase and I’m happy to add it to my cookbook and entertaining collection.

For those of us who are of UK ancestry it is always enjoyable to read about the Royals. While their formality is not part of California lifestyle, The Brits are known for their creative , fun parties. Many ideas can be incorporated into our easy, casual entertaining. The book has many little side stories along with a year of fantastic party planning and recipes. The Butler also tells many ways to help handle problems that arise while entertaining and has fantastic ideas to create ambiance at your social gatherings. This book is a delight!

The title of the book is very misleading. This is a book on party planning and entertaining, NOT etiquette. If you're looking for a guide to etiquette, you can't go wrong with Miss Manners. I don't know about the hardcover edition, but the Kindle edition that I bought is littered with typos.

This book is just as you would hope--full of advice on entertaining, pictures, and gourmet recipes. Whatever the media hype may have been about the author, I have to say, I really enjoyed his book.

Leider nicht das, was der Titel verspricht, sondern vor allem ein Kochbuch. Ansonsten: Durchaus interessant und lehrreich. Auch die Bilder sind schön und hilfreich. aber mehr über das Protokoll wäre spannend gewesen.
