Best of the Capricorn Years

Awesome early tunes from the Mule, some familiar, some not. It does contain their hard to find and awesome live version of Jimi’s ‘3rd Stone from the Sun’.

12 songs on 2 discs lasting 115 minutesd. Makes a pretty fine intro to the band for even the fickle fan, esp. that 2nd disc. But if you have "Live with a Littlle Help from Our Friends", you won't much need this album, unless you're into the nuances of different live performances of the same songs. Single-worthy songs are "Thorazine Shuffle" (studio from "Dose") and "No Need to Suffer" (live); the rest is some pretty decent live material; esp. the 13-minute "Gambler's Dream". While I'm certainly not drinking all their Kool-Aid, it's a compelling enough album to grasp what the big deal is about with this excellent band, esp. Warren Haynes. Encore!

Gov't Mule, a good sampling of material. If you have all of the GM music, you have this material. At the time of purchasing this, I was a newbie. This is an excellent collection. This gives you a good example of GM. This shows some of the versatility of these guys.

If you like Warren Haynes and/or Gov't Mule you'll love this. if you don't it won't make you a convert. If you don't know them it's a great introduction.

This is my 6th. CD og the Mule, I will probably end up with them all, Blind Man in the Dark, I shall Return, John the Revelator. etc. Man I gotta Have em all. I hope you like Mule too. If you don't like at first give em a chance... Also the Video Deep End tribute to Allen Woody is a good way to start to hear the Crickets...Good Luck James Manuel

My husband is a huge Gov't Mule fan. He loves the CD

Introduction to those who are not yet into the excellent Gov't Mule .This is a good mix of their earlier stuff .Pick out track for me is the moody 'No Need to Suffer ' , where Warren Haynes guitar work is as usual spell binding and just listen to bassist 'Allen Woody' s tones . What a tragedy he passed on shortly after this .Some good live tracks on the second cd , which gives you a feel how good the Mule are live .

Recopilación totalmente imprescindible para cualquier buen fan de los Mule.Cuando te encuentras con un Best of de un grupo, del que además, tienes todos sus discos, no te molestas ni en mirarlo. Lo tengo todo,para que quiero un Best of ?......Error !!!!!Warren no da punto sin hilo...es un genio...incluso para hacer un simple ; Lo mejor de .....No tener este disco te privara de tener pequeñas joyas casi imposibles de conseguir.Son dos discos con algunos de sus mejores temas, tanto en estudio como en directo. El segundo es en directo, pero de un directo muy difícil (..y carísimo ) de conseguir : With a Little Help From Our Friends Collectors Edition....una joya que no puedes conseguir ni queriendo...más la versión del Wandering Child del disco uno, también de esta edición coleccionista.Los Mule son una de las mejores bandas de rock de la historia y esta es para mi su mejor versión. Formato trío de los comienzos con Warren Haynes a la guitarra y voz, Matt Abts a la batería y el gran y añorado Allen Woody al bajo.Doble disco fabuloso....y si no lo tienes..bueno. ...tú te lo pierdes

un ottimo cd parzialmente "live" dove i Mule danno chiaro esempio della loro bravura, è un raccolta molto ben fatta con cui si può "godere" di tutti i loro modi di suonare dal blues al rock con lunghi assoli. La confezione ottima non il solito cartonato, spedizione ed imballaggio l meglio come Amazon ci ha abituati. Un doppio cd da consigliare sia a chi ha la raccolta completa sia a chi vuole avvicinarsi ai Muli !!!

En 2006 sort ce double CD compilant des titres représentatifs du style de Gov't Mule, tout en blues-rock puissant qui sent bon le rock sudiste, alternant des titres en studio tirés des albums Dose et Life Before Insanity et d'autres en live provenant de WALHFOF. C'est du bon et parmi les oeuvres du groupe s'insèrent deux reprises, « third stone from the sun » de J. Hendrix et « 32-20 blues » de R. Johnson. Bon, si vous avez tous les albums du groupe, vous retrouverez ces titres, pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas cet excellent groupe, ce best of est intéressant. Gov't Mule aime bien reprendre des compositions d'autres musiciens, surtout en concert (Black Sabbath, J. Hendrix, Neil Young, Free...) d'ailleurs j'en profite pour vous signaler qu'il existe un superbe double album live du groupe qui porte le titre de « Holy Haunted House » non répertorié chez Amazon sur lequel existent 8 titres de Led Zeppelin repris de fort belle manière.
