I bought a Spaulding size 7 (standard), size 6, and size 5 (youth) size basketballs along with this item. I mounted it to the wall and it will only hold the size 7 ball on the left side where the metal is thicker. This is a 2-piece item with the right side sliding into the left side along the horizontal bar. The size 6 and 5 just fall through and to the ground. Now I have to find some thick foam or something 1.5-2" thick to wrap the bar with in order for it to hold basketballs. This thing is junk. I have it mounted exactly as shown in the picture and it just doesn't work. The gap from the wall to the bar is 9-3/8". A standard size 7 basketball has a circumference of 29.5". Divide that by pi (3.14) to get the diameter of 9.39". The distance from the wall is 9-3/8" which is 9.375". The basketball is 0.015" wider than the distance from the wall. The bar flexes a bit, or doesn't quite set right on the ball (the black seams touch the bar) and the standard basketball falls right through. The smaller balls don't have a chance. What a waste of money.

Do not buy!!! Do not buy!!! Do not buy!!!
This is an adjustable rack for hanging clothes. That's what the box says, so listing it as a basketball holder is not just misleading, it's willful misrepresentation (which one would thing is not allowed, Amazon...or is it?).Probably the biggest problem is that it doesn't work well for basketballs (which makes sense, since it was designed for clothes). The next problem is that Amazon sells the same item, for less as a clothes bar (yes, I know Amazon doesn't set the prices).Anyhow, save yourself time and head ache and don't buy this (it's also not an easy return....)

Won't work for youth or women's balls. Otherwise OK.
This is a clothing hanger that someone figured they could also sell as a basketball holder. I know that because the package is labelled that way. If you are planning on using this for youth or woman-sized balls you should look elsewhere. The balls will fall through the too-wide opening. It does fit full size balls, but barely. I have a worn outdoor ball that falls through. That said, if you want something inexpensive to hold up to three full-size men's balls, it'll work ok.

This is a terrible product. I purchased the item to organize the basketballs in our garage. The product picture shows this item being used as a basketball holder but the main bar sits out from the wall too far to hold a basketball. Ours pass right through. I will probably modify it with a pool noodle to wrap the foam around the bar to fit the basketballs. But I shouldn't have to reengineer this product to make it work. The product boxes label the product as a clothes hanger. Disappointed that this product does not work as depicted in the picture.

Some Reviewers Didn't Read the Product Information.
This is really a very Kool rack. I have 6 BBs displayed on it.I didn't use the anchors; just screwed it into my plaster wall. It's sturdy and easily holds 3 size 7'sand you can set 2 more on top of those. It's designed to hold 3 men's official size 7 basketballs, and that's exactly what it does, and does it well, too.Definitely worth my $20.

Clothes rack marketed as a ball holder
It's a cheap alternative to balls all over the place. It came labeled as a clothes rack, so that says it all. It is being sold as something it really isn't, but it works. It is not heavy duty. Does what you need it to as long as you don't hang on it!

This works great for full size balls only
This works great for full size balls only. We do plan to put foam around the bar to help hold our smaller basketball.
