**Q: is it organic?**
A: Maple syrup comes straight from the tree....you can't get anymore organic than that.

**Q: The ingredients only lists maple syrup. What gives it the bourbon flavor; shouldn't that be listed?**
A: The bourbon flavor that they describe comes from the barrels in which they age the maple syrup.  The barrels were originally used to ferment bourbon and repurposed for the syrup.  This is technically not an added ingredient, just a little flavoring.  Absolutely no alcohol would be transferred over in this process.

**Q: Does this syrup require Refrigeration**
A: Natural maple syrup requires refrigeration after opening, otherwise it gets some kind of mold.

**Q: What hrade is this? Looking for grade b.**
A: ALL 100% pure organic maple syrup is Grade A. See below details for what was previously known as Grade B.

A new maple syrup grading system went into effect on January 1, 2015. Historically, the USA and Canada had different grading systems, and states and provinces also had their own rules. The maple industry aligned and launched a new grading system that includes color and flavor descriptions. Since 2015, all maple producing regions of the USA and Canada implemented this system. With the new grading, ALL maple syrup is Grade A.

Here is a comparison of the Current grading system and the OLD Standard where color classes are based on Tc % light transmittance:

Current Standards, US & Canada:

Golden Color, Delicate Taste	>75% light transmittance
Amber Color, Rich Taste	50.0% - 74.9% light transmittance
Dark Color, Robust Taste	25.0% - 49.9% light transmittance
Very Dark Color, Strong Taste	< 25% light transmittance

Based on Current/New standard, products in "Dark Color, Robust Taste" with 25% to 27% light transmittance (the darkest parts) and ALL of "Very Dark Color, Strong Taste" would have been considered Grade B under previous standards.


OLD Standard, prior to Jan 1, 2015: 

Light Amber	> 75% light transmittance
Medium Amber	60.5 to 74.9% light transmittance
Dark Amber	44.0% to 60.4% light transmittance
Grade B	<27.0% light transmittance

I have had a range of , "Real,' maple syrup. i HAVE BOUGHT A BEVY OF from Trader Joe's., and there is no denying. There is no such thing as a bad, "Real," maple syrup. I bought the stuff in plastic jugs, and syrup from Vermont, and Canada, and they are all great,, No more "Mrs. Butt wipe for me.
