A blueprint for building a culture of trust and a remedy for healing disunity & unproductivity on your team!
Richard understands what it takes to build a culture of trust. Trustology inspires leaders and managers to tenaciously maintain an environment of trust because the fruit of cooperative behavior is worth the effort. People who don't trust one another can only cooperate under a highly regulated and enforceable system of policies. This poisons the roots of creativity and it doesn't take long before a culture of distrust erodes productivity. Trust is the foundation of all relationships. High trust cultures beget exceptionally competent people with highly creative output. High trust communities are the ones that out-work, out-serve, and out-enjoy those low trust communities that have degraded into survival mode. The fruit of distrust is obvious, and Richard's book offers a prescription to prune out the dead branches of distrust so that new vibrant growth can return to a team. I highly recommend Trustology as a resource to diagnose problems on any team, and prescribe a process for returning to the Promised Land of trust.Having worked with hundreds of teams myself, I completely agree with Richard's laser sharp focus on "trust" as the root from which an organization grows and bears healthy fruit. Just as people need certain basics to survive, like food, water, and shelter... In my book, Christian Outdoor Leadership: Theology, Theory, and Practice: How to use Time in the Wilderness and Backcountry Adventure Camping for Leadership ... Learning and Bible Study Resources  I highlight TRUST as one of the five foundation stones that every culture and society needs to survive and thrive... and assert that every leader's most basic responsibility is to foster an environment of trust. Build trust, and you have just unlocked the potential of every person on your team. This is a great read. I highly recommend it.Ashley DentonVice President, Nexus International

Amazing book for teams
We all know what trust is, don't we? Have we ever thought of breaking trust down so that we can narrow our focus and efforts to improve the parts of trust we really need to improve! Love it.Also - "Trust is not earned, it's given". This phrase completely encompasses something I was struggling to articulate but completely agree with! Thanks so much, Richard for putting this down on paper!

Easy read, somewhat thought-provoking, but...
Did women not enter the workplace til 2014? Not a single mention of a woman in any anecdote or tale in this book, barring this guy's wife. I also found the mention of 'problem solving' being a y chromosome trait distasteful. If you can get past those irritants, the advice in this book is good, though it's lacking in data to back up the claims. For me, this got me thinking, which is usually all you can ask of a business book.

The 'right stuff' for helping leaders truly lead
Richard shines a light on a pivotal area of leadership - that of demonstrating trust in order to foster it in organizations. Throughout the book, he illustrates that this is a choice; a choice that can be made and must be made in order to build and sustain high-performance teams. A product as much of what he has learned as what he has taught (as is the case with executive consulting), this rare glimpse into the "secret sauce" of Richard's methodology is freely shared and available to all who aspire to servant leadership, in any kind of organization. Thumbs-up from me... it's an easy read, very engaging, and Richard's humility belies his obvious experience and standing with those he has coached toward success.
