AkebonoACT1081 Proact Ultra Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pad kit, GREY

This brakes fit my 2014 ford mustang gt/cs with no problem. They are quit and they have great stopping power. I can tell feel the improvement. Only issue I had is when I got the brakes, the metal circular spring on one of the outer pads came was off when I open the box but I was able to get it back on with a little force. They don't come with replacement metal brackets that the brakes rest on. I had to clean ones that are already there but would have been nice to get some new ones like most pads come with. Would have giving the pads 5 if they came with the replacement brackets.

Bought these pads in conjunction with centric rotors for my mustang 2012. I only have a few miles on them but I must say that they are super smooth and quiet. No vibration, just clean smooth stop. Not huge improvement from oem as far as stopping power. But this was not what I was looking for or expected. Only complaint I have like other reviewers have mentioned is that the clip broke off. Even though they seem to be functioning properly, I feel extremely uneasy about the missing clip because it release the pad from the rotor and now there is uneven tension from the top and the bottom of the pads. This could result in uneven wear and who knows what else down the line. I'm in the process contacting the retailer and ducking one star for this. Akebono please take note this consistent problem and make the necessary amend..!

Great quality!!The factory spring clip design for these Mustang GT front pads is terrible. I have tried several other brands before this one ALL have failed (springs break off). These Akebono pads are very high quality and you can trust that the clips will NOT break off. If you have experienced this problem then buy these pads!!

The brakes themselves are nice, they stop the car, are quiet, etc.However, during install, the springs fell off of one end of each pad on the driver side of the car. The springs appear to serve the purpose of ensuring that the pad does not contact the rotor when the brakes are not applied. I had to put them on the car anyway as I can't have my car set up for days while I arrange for a replacement, so now, I've got a situation where the spring is working on one end of the pad but not the other. This seems to cause the pad to twist slightly and make contact with the rotor causing heat and wear.I'm working on contacting Akebono directly to see if they will replace the defective pads.*EDIT*I called Akebono customer service and they do stand behind their product. The representative was very helpful and will ship me a replacement set directly.So while I do have to re-do some of the work on my car, the company is doing what they can to make it right.

These pads have a return clip secured to the brake pad by a little metal protrusion. From the factory the clips weren’t tight enough on there to take the stress of pushing against the caliper to reset the pad.I tried to squeeze the clips tighter closed, tried to reuse the old clips, nothing worked. Spent a couple of hours trying to make these work.Eventually I gave up and went and bought some Duralast pads from Autozone.Not only is it annoying to get a brand new set of (relatively expensive) pads that you can’t install because they aren’t built right. But it’s dangerous too. If one of those clips popped off while you were going down the road you could end up with a brake pad contacting the rotor at high speeds. Possibly even a brake fire.Do not buy. These are a poorly manufactured safety hazard.

These fit and work on my 2007 Mustang V6 just fine, but the spring clips were all broken off so I had to work on them quite a bit to get the clips to stay on. Not the best clip mounting design to say the least.

Fits great no problems

Springs pop off easy and not easy to get back on. Stopped my brake noise and function fine.
