Superb and Robust Little Stand
This is an excellent stand for an acoustic guitar. It is brilliant in the simplicity of its design and small form factor, while also being very stable with a guitar resting on it. When collapsed down, it is only 14" long and 4 1/2" wide at its widest part. And when extended into operating position, it is 14" high, with the legs extending out 9 1/2" from center. All contact points which the guitar might touch, are foam padded, including the two lower brackets which cradle the bottom of the guitar body. These two lower brackets also swivel upwards for flat storage. However you may want to carry a very small crescent wrench (or socket) and a small tipped Phillips head screwdriver, for tightening purposes, since the pivoting action of the two support brackets can cause the nut and bolt, which attaches them to the tripod legs, to come loose. Mine did, when swiveling the bracket into the closed position, and had to be tightened. However, if this does happen, it does not affect the stability of the bracket on the leg, because the backside of the bracket (past the leg) has a bend in it, which is a positive stop, preventing the bracket from going any lower than its intended support position. I also noticed that there are no weak points in the construction of this extremely well made bracket, other than the aforementioned nuts and bolts which can come loose (but do not affect the stand's performance). Another thing that I love, is that the stand is barely noticeable, with a guitar resting on it. You see very little of the tripod base. The only thing visible are the two forward curved support ends of each bracket, with only about 1 1/2" of black foam covered tubing visible at the bottom of the guitar. The guitar appears to be floating in the air. Fantastic little stand which will endure rough handling if needed.

Great stand for a great price
I have 7 of these stands for my 7 guitars. I have 4 classical guitars, 2 flamenco guitars and 1 acoustic steel string. It's very durable and easy to set up and the guitars never tip over. It's a really great, quality stand for the price. They don't take up a lot of room and they're very light and portable if you want to take them with you to a gig or if you're traveling. I highly recommend it.My guitar teacher suggested that I keep my guitar(s) out because he said that if I kept it/them in a visible, easily-accesible place that I would practice more, even if it was just a few minutes and he was absolutely right. Instead of zipping them up and putting them away in their respective bags/cases after each practice session, I have them all out and displayed and I definitely practice and play more because as soon as I step into the room - there they are, I just pick any one of them up and start playing. It was a simple tip that sounded like common sense but I hadn't realized that I always had the excuse that I didn't have time to practice -- but really the effort of getting the gig bag and unzipping it and taking out the guitar even though that seems like very little effort and doesn't take up a lot of time, for some reason kept me from practicing. I guess out of sight, out of mind. But now I keep my guitars out, and I also bought a music stand and I keep the music I'm working on and the stand out. Yes, it takes up room and stuff but whatever gets me to practice more and play more is always very helpful.

Nice compact guitar stand
I lost an older version of this stand. I like how the new version is so adjustable. This folds up nicely and fits in all of my gig bags. Well done, Fender!

Solid and very portable, but not for all guitars
This is a very useful stand, it might look like it, but when you close it, you can put it in the pocket of the travel bag for the guitar, which comes handy when you get to the hotel, just open the stand and put it in a corner, instead of just putting it against the wall, risking it to fall and hit on the floor. The down side is, that it has no neck holding mechanism, which allows the guitar to move to the sides. Most of the guitars have a body that will allow this, for instance I have a Dean Vendetta XM and any bump on the floor can tilt her, needlessly to say if there's a tremor, it will fall for sure. Also the angle in which the guitar stands would allow the head stock to hit the wall or any other object behind it.Probably guitars like Flying V, Warbeast or the Razorback could avoid this movement due to the body shape, or make it worst, I don't have one to test it.If it is mobility you are looking for, this Fender Mini Stand is perfect, BUT if it is a safe stand for your home, you probably would like to look something like this: (http://www.amazon.com/XCG4-Tubular-Velveteen-Padding-Security/dp/B0006NDF8A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365700330&sr=8-1&keywords=electric+guitar+stand), that has a neck strap for safety (or similar), but it won't fit in your bag. I have 2 of these, and they work great with either acoustic or electric guitar, they've even been on a earthquake and the stand won't let the guitars wander around hitting objects, or falling down.

great stand for the money
I purchased this through the Amazon marketplace for slightly over $11 with free shipping. This was my first stand purchase (for my first acoustic guitar...it has a full sized body) and I wanted something sturdy that would provide great "bang for the buck". This stand exceeded my expectations. The seller (Music123) had it in my hands 4 days after the order was placed. It came without written directions but they really aren't needed as the stand is very easy to set up. The rubber on the arms and back of the stand is nice and soft, seems durable as well. I like the fact that this can be folded up and stored easily in a closet or a guitar case, yet is simple to unfold and provide a rock solid support for my guitar. Previous reviews on this item were helpful in my decision to buy this particular stand. For the money it costs I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to other acoustic guitar owners.
