Good quality, needs adjustments
It would not shift into the big ring in front due to slack in the cableWould not shift into small ring in back due to slack in cableBrakes rotor in front needed adjusting, it was dragging. The bike is excellent quality and good looking, especially the wheels, but it is going to need to be tuned up and adjusted.I have owned a couple dozen bikes, many I bought online, all the way up to several thousand dollars. This bike is a great value and really good quality for the money but you can not safely ride it without checking and adjusting the wheels, brakes, shifting, etc. They are made with very little human intervention!

Great entry-level road bike.
For the price, this is an excellent entry-level road bike. The flat bar is nice, but the grips slide around and needed to be swapped out (this is the only real negative about this bike, I'd take a quarter star off) The geometry is great for speed and hill climbing. The derailluers shift quickly, smoothly and accurately. They only required a little adjustment out of the box. The brakes do squeal, which is inherent on some disk brakes so Im not sure if the adjustment is off or its just the pads.It was very easy to assemble. Requires only a few basic tools. Adjustable wrench (or open-end wrenches), a set of good hex keys and a screwdriver is all I needed. I would have a local bike professional tune it up after assembly if you don't know how to adjust the derailleur and brakes. However,YouTube has videos and it's not hard once you get the hang of what everything adjusts for.I did need a gel cover for the seat or would definitely recommend riding shorts.I ride about 20 miles a day on this bike and overall am very happy with it!

Buy this bike says the Novice Rider
I don't know anything about bikes, I'm a 30+ year old novice when it comes to bikes. I just ride them.Prior to having this outstanding bike, I bought an $80 used bike from Craigslist because I only plan to commute from home to the subway station which is a little over a mile. I live in Oakland and it get hilly and after a month my bike began to have lots of problems. I was working so hard to pedal and it seemed like everyone was flying past me when I was riding the Craigslist bike.Eventually, I preferred to walk but missed getting some form of morning exercise and purchased this bike. This bike looks so modern and very trendy. I leave in a complex where people bike ride and this is by far the best looking bike handsdown. It rides so smooth and now I'm seeing it wasn't that I was some poor out of shape guy on a bike which is why people were passing by me all the time, it's because a lot had better bikes than the Craigslist one I had. This bike is a lot lighter too.I did pay for someone to put it together. I attempted to do it, but then got stock about 75% of the way. I read someone suggested you get it tuned up and I heeded. If you're a novice I suggest you do it too for safety reasons. It was $90 for me.About me, I'm 5"9 215 lbs muscly guy. The bike works for my body type.

11 x 48 tooth gearing ,24 speeds , as good as any 1000$ bike !! price is right
It came early ,fairly well tuned , had to adjust brakes a little,Crank does not spin free like it should,? shifts well enough,Packaging was good no holes in box .nothing bent or crooked, welds are good , I do not like the flat bars or the hard saddle. ,It weights assembled 27 & half pds. rides like a multi thousand dollar bike I have a Redline $1500 it is just as good after tuning. after a hundred miles the crank loosened .If it were not for the stiff saddle and the bars being so low, 5 stars

Great deal on a good bike!
It's been a while since I've bought a new bike. Never considered buying a Schwinn because I associated the brand with being cheap and old school. Since college I've owned a Nishiki, Giant, Specialized, top of the line bikes. I bought this bike purely based on price as nowadays I'm more a leisure rider. I have to say upon arrival I'm impressed with Schwinn's quality. The bike was packaged extremely well, instructions to put the bike together were easy (about 30-45 minutes), extremely light weight, and looks great. Despite ease of assembly I suggest taking it to a bike shop and have them 'tune' it (about $60) after you put it together or $100 (approx) for both assembly and tune. That way you can be assured everything is calibrated and adjusted properly. Overall I'm very happy with the quality of this bike.

Defective bike
Clearly sent a defective bike. Paint was chipped off of crank and sleeve is missing, all of the threads in the crank arm are completely stripped, not sure how this happens? Will have to replace entire assembly. Unridable and have no idea how such a glaring problem got thru quality control. I have a 17 yr old autistic sonwho saved and bought this for a yearly trip, he is now the only kid here with no bike for 2 weeks. Way to go Amazon.

Great bicycle that arrived well packed and free of any ...
Great bicycle that arrived well packed and free of any shipping blemishes. Assembly took about 1 to 2 hours but wasn't difficult, first time out revealed a smooth shifting bike that will be enjoyed for years to come.
