Great for planting when large space is not available.

I love the concept of this book. I have planted several of the planters for the summer and fall this year. The only downside is being able to find the required plants. I live in zone 8 and have had lots of trouble finding coral bells after August, which most of the autumn and winter containers call for.

This bok is very thorough in guiding you, whether you are a beginner or an expert, to create beautiful containers. It is set out in recipe form, describing the plants necessary to create the container pictured. There is even a diagram showing where to place each plant in the container, with suggestions for alternate plants. You get a shopping list, the plant requirments (sun, shade), size of continer and difficulty. If you are interested in container gardening, this is a great book and I highly reommend it.

This is really a fact filled book and I am looking forward to using it throughout the year to provide container plants on my back yard wall to be enjoyed year around and not just in the spring and summer.

I love gardening and flowers, but I am not good at deciding what plants and flowers go together. This book tells one what flowers go together, what size container to use, whether it is shade, partial sun, full sun, etc., and in what season the plants will thrive. It is well written, illustrated, and very easy to understand. If you are interested in container gardening I highly recommend this book.

I was dissatisfied with my container gardening efforts this past summer and vowed to improve. I ordered this book because I wanted ideas for the winter ... something other than dried, scraggley, dead petunias. I found the book interesting and informative with plenty of useable ideas for my containers, not just for the winter, but all year long. I heartily recommend it! Washington state resident.

The book is an inspiration for container gardens. The author has put together plant materials that look beautiful and hold up all season. The watering needs are similar as are the suns. These are challenges the new gardener is not aware of. She also has good planting procedures. Place the plant side by side to avoid root rot. Great ideas, a must for container gardeners.

I was disappointed in this, especially as it's a gift. It doesn't have the high resolution I expected. The photographs of the containers don't look that wonderful. Don't exactly want to rush out and copy them in the spring.
