I love this movie. Great actors a so glad I ran across this one. It’s definitely a keeper.

Dolly sings in this movie and it is great. Burt Renolds is always a great actor and both Dolly and Burt together are very entertaining. Funny movie.

Please do no take care of the review written in 2010 … the blu ray that I got was the 2016 UK version witch plays perfectly with every blu ray reader in europe- Only Problem there is only one Language: English… and eve sthe subtitles are only in english, more there are no Extras.. but it's really cheap. and the movie is really cute.. and it's the only region 2 Blu ray version to my knowleddge, it could ever be a lousy non official spanish blu ray. but this is original and pretty good. And I repeat my self it plays perfectly in all Europe cause it's indeed region 2.

この映画は、１９８２年全米公開バード・レイノルズとドリー・パートン主演のミュージカル・コメディです。当時バード・レイノルズはMoney Making Star No.1、ドリー・パートンは世界的大人気のカントリーシンガー...にもかかわらず、日本では劇場未公開でした。(のちに『テキサス1の赤いバラ』のタイトルでビデオ化)日本国内では、Blu-ray、DVD共に未発売の為、やむなく北米版Blu-rayを購入しました。もちろん、日本語字幕はありませんが、英語字幕はあるので、何となく理解は出来ました(笑)画質は一般的なBlu-rayの画質でした。当方所有のAQUOSのレコーダーでは、問題無く再生可能でした。(北米版Blu-rayの為、リージョンA)ドリー・パートンがひたすら可愛い(^o^)コメディエンヌぶりを発揮してます。娼館が舞台なのですが、明るくていい時代だった頃のお話です。ドリーファンならおすすめです。

It’s a fantastic musical that I first saw in Kolkata in maybe 1983. if you are a country music fan then don’t miss this gem. Dolly Parton was in her heyday when she sang in this movie. I first obtained a cassete in US of the soundtrack .& then the full movie in a Video Cassette (which I still have with me). Those days there were no VCD/DVD/BLU RAYs . I strongly recommend this movie to all Country Music lovers.

One of my favourite films but NOT this version. This is only for use on an American DVD system and although I can watch it on the computer, it can only be watched a limited number of times. Had I known it was not compatable with a European system I would not have bought it.
