I know most of the time you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but in this case I needed to and I didn’t know I was buying a water pencil book. They don’t have an option to really view what you’re getting and the name says step by step drawing.

I love this book. I rented it from my local library and enjoyed it so much I've decided to purchase a copy. It is well designed & thought out. The illustrations are easy to follow and the instructions are easy to understand. I think it is a good book for the beginning botanical artist.

I was hoping this was more of a tutorial, but it turns out to be a kind of 'study' on drawing rather than a step by step. Disappointing

Having played around with drawing flowers for some time but not remembering everything I've learnt or just not puttingit into practice, I find this book really helpful for reminding me of various tips, particulary regarding the direction of lighthitting the petals as I always tend to get carried away and not leave any light areas. The flower drawings are so beautiful that they give me that extra motivation to get out my pencils and try! I love the step by step instructions for each drawing - you can take itat your own pace and the whole subject becomes less scary. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to improve their flowerdrawing skills.
