The 5/16 studs are too big for any of the included collets.
Overall the machine performed as advertised and I am happy with the product. The 5/16 studs included with the machine do not fit in any of the collets. I purchased a machine for use at work and a month later I purchased another machine for use at home. The 5/16 studs did not fit for both packages which were shipped separately to different locations a month apart so it wasn't a packing mistake.
