Just what i was looking for. But has a significant hum
This mic had the specific features i was looking for: A momentary switch, and a lock switch. The intended use is for a in ear monitor in a studio, so the director can speak to the host/moderator through a wireless ear pieceThis mic comes with no connector, bare leads. I soldered a quality XLR connector to it using the correct leads in the correct positions. It runs through a small amp, then to the wireless system. I also tested it plugged directly into a Canon C100The issue is that there is a persistent hum to the unit, and i suspect it's due to lack of shielding/small conductors. if you move the wire around the hum gets better/worse. It could also be a grounding issue, as this mic has leads to be able to solder into a PA system, but being that my test with the C100 resulted in exactly the same behavior, i think it's the wiring.I returned the unit after speaking with the manufacturer and they agreed it must be a defective unit. I ordered a replacement, and it behaves exactly the same. Since time was of the essence, i found that coiling the cable and hiding it under the base, or under the wireless base, and then running an xlr cable the rest of the way, can result in very little hum. You could try removing most or all of the stock cable and replacing it with all XLR, but that may void your ability to return it if it does not work.

Extremely poor shielding.
This mic was tested at my shop on a small amp and seemed to be good quality. But once it was put on a job site it turned into a monster. The wires are tiny and the Red Wire is the only wire that is shielded. Not the pair but the single wire. The N.O. and C wires connected to switch a small mute DC relay as the previous mic was wired. The simple circuit worked fine with the old mic. But this mic has serious hum. Would expect better from Bogen. Nice looking for a useless mic.

The microphone sounded good, but there was radio interference in the PA ...
The microphone sounded good, but there was radio interference in the PA system after we hooked up the microphone (along with other changes we made). It was hard to believe the new mic would be the culprit, so we looked for other causes. But it turns out that the microphone cable is NOT shielded. It has a ground wire, but no shielding...Unbelievable! When I replaced it with the old microphone, the radio interference went away. So, I consider the unit to be defective by design, but unfortunately I missed the return window for Amazon.
