A valuable read for many.
Several reviews have criticized this book for lack of technical depth, yet the author clearly states that this was not her intention and directs you to Calleman's work for this material. You don't hand a child a copy of Webster's Unabridged and say "Here, learn to read & write!" Those who don't really care about the more technical nuances and those who are perhaps not patient enough to wade through all of the "nitty gritty" will appreciate this presentation. Although simpler than others, it still contains much useful material about the Mayan calendar, a buzzword often used and seldom fully understood. I am not the least bit sorry I bought and read this book, though I will agree it could have used a little less frequent mention of her previous work. If you enjoyed "The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls" - buy this book.

How aliens from the Pleides Star System are Assisting Mankind Toward Perfection
This is the end of times as we know it. As humans accelerate toward love and compassion, there is an increase in violence as noted in the Boston Marathon bombing and MIT Campus slayings. However, the Pledians say, despite the increase in world violence, mankind in general will grow in compassion and tolerance toward others. The natives of the Pleides star system say they are also the ancestors of the Mayan race who settled in Mexico, Central and South America hundreds of years, ago. The Mayans are the source of the 2012 end times prophecies. But rather than the world ending, this is just the beginning of peace of earth. It will take up to 2062 for this world to accelerate in vibration where evil is almost erradicated and universal brotherhood is the norm. But it will happen, eventually, at least in our grandchildren's lifetimes. Barbara Fifield

Wonderful Read!
The Mayan Code is a book I found I was not able to put down. As I read I found places within my being relaxing in a way I have not felt before. This is a magical gift to the reader. Barbara Hand Clow writes in such way that brings understanding about the Mayan Calendar in easy to understand insights. I am grateful for the references she has given regards Calleman's work along with the many other book titles and authors mentioned thoughout the read. I look forward to reading more of her works and feel a great gratitude for the support given to me within the reading of this book.

Thought provoking but too much politics.
Barbara Handclow has some thought provoking ideas but much of her work is overwhelmed by her political views expressed in Mayan Code.

An Explanation of "Now"
This is a fascinating book. It's not an easy read but something in it seems to resonate soundly. It explains much of how time is being accelerated and why in a way that "fits" into my heartspace. Thank you, Barbara Hand Clow for your life's work!

Rambling
Books starts with the interesting topic of Mayans then turns into her rambling. gets harder to read the more you go on as it gets more into her theories. im pretty sure she stretches the facts to make it fit her ideas. the only reason why it gets two stars instead of one, she has some interesting idea mixed into the pages of rambling. Definitely would not buy it if i could go back in time.

Still relevant
An illuminating book, still relevant and accurate though written years ago, the time acceleration theory posed by Calleman stretches our linear mindset about time which breaks your old thinking wide open, unfortunately as this knowledge becomes mainstream for those who have delved deeply into these subjects it is becoming remedial, for those just beginning to seek, it is still an amazing book

turgid and unconvincing
The problem with most of Clow's book is that she tries to present ideas she has barely understood, and hadn't yet fully thought through, and she lacks that most important ability of a good writer, the ability to put herself in the place of the reader. Because her books are often self published by her own company, there is no editorial input which all her books are in dire need of. I buy all her books because there is always one or two good piece of suggestion or insight that takes my thinking in a new direction, but each book taken as a whole always leaves one wondering how much does Clow really know, how can the information be verified, and one often is left with the impression that she claims far more than she is certain of. A more enlightened and informed being would have claimed far less and presented a more cogent and lucid view of things, and feel far more responsibility towards the reader thus or wait until they have a clear picture before loading the reader with diatribe. I'm on the one hand grateful for her books but on the other hand, sceptical of much of the information because while she talks about channeling, the information appear to come very much from the left brain, and not enough efforts are made to go out of the her own narrow circle to test her theories.

Long winded but a good read nonetheless!
Like my fellow reviewer Dennis bellow me; I too was a little taken a-back by some of the things said in the book - however, I am not going to go there, since Dennis did an excellent job and pointing out some of the ... lets call them, inconsistencies, of the book.On an entirely different note, I did find the book to be an enjoyable read - and that is where I give my 4 stars. I was torn between 3 or 4 stars because I know of Clow's past books and she seems to be at heart, a warm writer - long winded - but warm nonetheless. For me, this is a plain good old fashioned interesting read and perhaps suites open minds and easy going people because yes, she does get a little passionate on the whole "apocalyptic Christian" thing - but a very wise person once said "take what you want, and leave the rest" so this is what I did.As a person who enjoys learning about different points of view - I found the book to be thought provoking, interesting and definitely worth the time.
