This pump is built like a tank and is VERY quiet compared to the old one. Yes this pump is expensive in comparison to others but it is proof "you get what you pay for". Do you want to keep spending over and over buying cheap pumps? From what I have read this pump also has a rebuild kit but it is only needed after several years of use. It comes as shown in the picture. The adapters are plastic and I would have preferred them to be brass. You will need to purchase all other plumbing on your own so I recommend getting an adjustable gang valve to control air flow because it puts out a LOT of air for its size. I just got this pump and I am impressed . I was able to retire about 10 individual smaller pumps and use just this one. I sold the old pumps and really this cost me nothing. The sound is almost silent. the only noise it the sounds of the bubbles. I am running it on 20 tanks and I know I could add maybe 10 more no problem.
