Collected Transcriptions: Schirmer Library of Classics Volume 2044 Piano Solo (Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics, 2044)

I am so impressed about these transcriptions. I have several Bach's transcription books, but this one has more advanced pieces than others. The overall level of this collection is for upper intermediate to advanced pianists, and some of them are actually pretty difficult to satisfy the more advanced performers as well. I bought this book to practice during the Covid's stay home time, and I am still having so much fun learning these pieces one after another as of today (6/20). Only disappointment is that it did not include " Sheep may safely graze," the much easier but most peaceful transcription by Petri.

These transcriptions are gems. I am not a professional pianist, but at an advanced level, and some are more challenging to learn than others. However enough material to have a few years of study material. As most transcriptions are by men, I have to make a few minor adaptations as i am a female with smaller hands. But nothing too drastic. This book has me addicted to transcriptions!

I am sad that learning one piece the pages were already coming out. I am a teacher and very gentle with music. Books I've had from Schirmer never last, this was sad as literally used for no time at all and pages were falling out. So much for having heirlooms.

Bought especially for the Busoni transcription of "Ich ruf' zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ. Lovely collection.

Many, many gems in this book. Contains transcriptions of select Bach originals by Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff,Ferruccio Busoni, Brahms, Harold Bauer, Camille Saint-Saens, Wilhelm Kempff.Lots of "bang for the buck!"Highly recommended.

It is Bach, some believe him to be the best of the best... what further needs to be said? I Love It!

Great edition. Got it for the Busoni/Bach Chaconne. Only thing to improve is maybe having a ring binding for ease of use. Arrived in good time etc good condition

Some of these transcriptions are almost impossible to play but having tried, I now listen to the recordings in absolute awe!.There are a few pieces which are enjoyable for an intermediate who passed his grade VIII 40 years ago!
