Goldwood 10" Woofer Protection Grille Chrome Steel Speaker Bar Grill Silver (BAR-10)

I was concerned when I arrived. Got to assembling it today and my concerns resolved. It’s not heavy duty, but it will protect my sub. The paint is good but it requires a bit of effort to land the screws tight, but that helps replace the need for lock tight. I’ve got it over a 10” Skar VD10, and it has 1/2” clearance on both sides.

Works great for the price. I knew already the depth was going to be a problem JL Audio W7 foam/ speaker hitting the grill so I rigged some 1’ nuts on the plate does the job like any other grill and still looks great. Far better than paying $60 for a JL audio grill kit.

For the money, this thing works incredibly well. But bring your patience while assembling. As mentioned in other reviews, the pieces come in a bag (much easier and less expensive to ship). 'Most' of the parts assemble easily, you're simply running a small bolt through one piece into the end of each bar. I had 3 of the holes not want to accept the bolts. 2 took quite a bit of pressure to get started (compared to the rest) and 1 simply did not work - so I had to use a longer bolt that I had laying around. Once you get it together, and secured to the box ... it's awesome strong. In my application, the seat was touching the woofer when it was down, so this grill easily accomplishes the goal of keeping the cloth of the seat (and bodies that sit in the seat) off the woofer. I would buy again, given the cost, and my familiarity now with the process of assembling.

Nice, heavy duty grills that won't cause chuffing when installed in front of hard driven subs. They should fit most subs because they have extra room around the edge of three speaker frame of my Pioneer 10's and stand off pretty far. The bad is of course, Chinese quality. Bars don't quite line up with holes in the mounts but work with a bit of coaxing. Two bends in the bars are not quite parallel giving the bars a slight twist but again works. The biggest flaw is the screws that hold the bars on are too short barely engaging the sloppy threads in the end of the bars and at best barely hold them on. One bar on each of the two grills I have fell off before or during installation forcing me to dig around in my hardware stash. Stupid thing to get dinged for on a review. But hey, just being honest here so you buyers know what to expect.

Not a whole lot you can say about a speaker grill. This installed nicely onto my 10" sub box. I was looking for something to protect the sub, without using one of those cheap/ugly waffle covers.The grill itself seems pretty sturdy. I was expecting this to come in 1 piece, but it just comes as a bag of parts. No instructions, just an un-labeled plastic bag. Fortunately, we aren't talking about rocket science to get it put together. 1 screw at each end of each bar (so 8 total) and you are done. 2 long bars go on the ends and the 2 short bars in the center. The base even has recessed holes for the screws to fit flush. Then use the 4 included screws to mount it to your box.Also, the packaging was a beat up old box, barely taped shut, and with some recycled stuffing. More like what I would expect from an Ebay sale than an Amazon merchant.But hey, the end result is what is important, right? So 4 *s for this one.

Need assembling, a 15 min thing, precision of the screws holes are so so, but do the job...from china you know ..... we cannot have too high expectations !i took the flat black one, great paint finish (note: when new outside the bag) .For 25$, metal not plastic , will protect the sub well. will give a great look.overall, recommended

I like how solid it is and how good it looks. But for assembly some of the threads are poorly done/ full of rust and paint. I fixed that by chasing the threads with a M4x0.7 tapered tap, and then using blue locktite to make sure it won't rattle loose. If you don't have a tap to clean the threads then don't be surprised if it's really tough to get the screws in or a couple of them strip altogether. I tried without tapping at first and damaged a screw.

The guard seems quite sturdy when built. Fit perfectly around my 10" subwoofer. Needs to be put together. Be careful when screwing in the bolts. One of threading almost stripped. The self tapering screws was easy to use. Recommend using a drill with a '+' bit. Don't have to worry about groceries bumping the sub now. Happy with the purchase.

Great grill cover. Easy to install, only takes a couple of minutes and looks awesome!
