This essential cookbook gives you everything you need to put the power of healing food on your plate every day: Over 200 Review: Love the EASY, HEALTHY RECIPES!! But this is SO much more than just a cookbook! - Can you be in love with a book? I really think I have developed a deep, meaningful relationship with this one!! :-) I have had this book for just a week and have found myself saying, "Where have you been all my life?!" I have made so many of the recipes....Salmon Scramble with Cauliflower and Dill Puree......Vincent Arpino's Clean Brooklyn Sicilian Pizza Pie (Yes! Grain free pizza that actually tastes like pizza!!)......Thai Marinated Turkey Breast......Crunchy Maple Mesquite Walnuts (which I am now addicted to).....Scallion pancakes (awesome to freeze too) ....Zucchini-wrapped whitefish with Chive Oil (restaurant quality dish) .....Mini Raspberry and Coconut Cream Tarts (just don't eat ALL of them standing up in your kitchen like I did. You really should share them).....Coconut Zucchini Noodles and Spiced Meatballs (Heaven!)......Sunken Eggs (OH MY GOD, was that good...I licked the pan!)......and lots of salads, dips and drinks too. Most of the recipes in this book were created by Chef Frank Giglio, a chef who cooks farm-fresh, clean recipes for his community in Maine. There are other recipes by Clean Team folks, celebrity friends and just people who have been helped by eating this way, and they have short little paragraphs at the end of their recipe talking about their experience. It is fun and motivating to read these inspiring, little excerpts and it makes the book more like a story, which I love. So, I cook a few recipes and get motivated all at the same time....and then I sit down to a great meal! Everything that I have eaten or drank this week has come from using a recipe in this book and there honestly hasn't been one meal that I haven't loved. They also happen to be wonderfully easy recipes to make (thank goodness!) and use common ingredients that you can find anywhere. That is a big deal to me, because I hate finding a great, healthy recipe and then having to search Google maps for a special market that carries one ingredient in a 10 pound bag that I'll never use again. This book is simple, straightforward and just has really great food in it. I suppose I agree with some of the other posts here that it would be great to have more pictures in their follow up books...there are 215 recipes and 40 pictures of the completed dishes...but it really didn't bother me enough to downgrade my rating. I made many of the recipes that have no picture, and the directions are clear and even pretty easy to follow for an "un-skilled" home cook like me. I guess pictures aren't a big deal to me because I'm 49 and am used to using my Mom's original Joy of Cooking and other, older, worn out family recipe books that have no pictures.....so all of the photos in this book are just happy icing on the cake for me. I guess if you're used to those cookbooks that have a picture on every page, you might wish for more, but you can do what I did and MAKE the recipe anyway and then take your OWN picture of the dish. Now, I have more pictures....not really because I was missing them, but because I just love the way these recipes turn out so I have to take my own shots of my food! As I said in my title, this is SO much more than just a cookbook and all the information, stories and helpful tips, along with all the recipes in Clean Eats deserve my 5 star rating. I like this book because nothing has been left out! There are pages of tips for setting up your Clean kitchen, more tips about food items, kitchen tools and basic cooking skills. There are 7 short wonderfully motivating essays about Clean eating and making it a lifestyle. It is so much more than just the food. One of the coolest things about this book is that there is an entire 21 day cleanse meal plan, a 21 day clean gut meal plan and a 7 day clean refresh meal plan, all with page numbers for the exact recipes to make for every single meal! That is worth buying the book right there, as far as I'm concerned, and I actually came back here to desertcart today to buy a bunch of copies to give away to friends for that reason...it's got all the info you need and every single recipe to do all 3 meal plans. Very cool! The other reason I love this book, and why it is even more fun to buy copies to share with my friends, is that Dr Junger is donating 100% of all the profits from this book to charity! How many people do that?? Dr Junger talks about the two charities, HealthCorps and Vitamin Angels, briefly in the book and also shares personal pictures of his family and life. This book is about joy and love and giving as much as it is about food. This book makes me feel connected to the people who had a hand in creating it. I like that. With all the medical issues I have been battling over this last decade, I like getting to know a bit about the people who are helping me get my life back. Eating this way makes me feel good....it is healing me and increasing my quality of life. The only problem I have with this book is deciding which dish to make! I think I'll just make a few and invite some people over to eat with me! Review: An essential clean kitchen tool - From Sarah Jamieson: Whether you are doing a CLEAN detox or your own cleanse, want to continue eating clean in between cleanses or just want to incorporate a few more healthy meals into your day, this one is a real go-to book. Full of great easy, quick to make recipes that I can't wait to try. I am always looking for new smoothies to try, ideally with not too much fruit or sugar and he has a bunch. The smoothies look both medicinal and delicious (Hello chocolate elixir and Reishi Cappuccino!!). Having done his cleanses (and others) before, this book would have been so useful to have and will be great for future cleanses as it points out which dishes are geared for his different cleanses or how you can modify them. Plus he has include meal plans for his 3 different detox programs (Gut Repair, Clean and Refresh). What I love about this book is most of the salad and smoothies recipes (things I would make just for me) are done in single or double servings which make them super easy to do if I am making only for me, or want to double a serving to make meals for the next day or if I want to share with my husband. This makes them easy to make and I don't have to do a bunch of math to figure out a single serving size. While the main dishes are geared for families or bigger quantities which making them great for serving friends or family or to throw in the freezer for those rushed nights. There are also a lot of vegan options or ways to turn the dishes vegan too. We tried the Garlic Chicken boy was I please when I saw my picky 5 year olds both reaching for seconds. Can't wait to try more of these dishes with them.

Great Book!
I preordered the book when I first received the email that this was coming! I've read both of Dr. Junger books. I have to say Clean was a bit much for me as a mom of three little boys at the time. Now that I'm older, have had brain cancer, a mild stroke and take a lot of medications I just finished Clean Gut. I'm not big on hocus pocus medicine, but do believe that there has to be something to the food we eat. I don't see a nutritionist or see an herbalist or even a certain doc that Dr. Junger recommends. I probably should! I LOVE food, all food and I love to eat out. This book should keep me busy for quite awhile. I love it. I have a medical background and should know better, sometimes we are blind to ourselves. Clean Gut was such an easy read. Clean Eats is beautiful and let me tell you, I've never cooked or prepped an anchovy until now. Quite an achievement. The recipes are easy, yummy and the back of the book has the actual Clean Gut and 7 Day Refresh eating menus on them. Oh and the chicken broth is amazing, you have to make it. I have made and drank as a tea in the morning. Unlike anything you could imagine. Other recipes that we've tried since we've gotten this book thousand island dressing, sunken eggs (a must try), and Mayo. I start the Clean Gut program on Sunday, May 4. I will report back weekly to let you all know how this book is helping - the main reason I got it was for the great recipes! Enjoy your book.

Clean Eats First Impressions,,,update...Second Impression
I am leaving my original review below... While still disappointed with the paper quality and lack of pictures with the recipes....I must say the recipes I have tried are excellent. The quinoa recipes are delicious, and the salmon recipe outstanding. Love the Mediterranean rice noodles and the parsnip soup. If you want recipes with little visual guidance, then this is an awesome book. Increasing my stars from 3 to 4 for actual recipe content. ***Original first impression review**** The Good....many of the recipes look wonderful. I have only made the root vegetable hash, page 60, and the Crispy Potato Wedges with Roasted red Pepper and Cashew Mayo, page 107, both were delicious. Directions clear, prep time a little off...but then I probably don't chop as fast as pros. The Bad.....I find the quality of the book lacking. Instead of having pictures associated with some of the recipes, the pictures are found near the end of each sections ( the pictures do have title of recipe and page number associated with it). The printed material is on cheaper paper...with a list price of $29.99, this seems wrong. I must say, I paid $17.99.....still think it feels like a paperback quality with hard covers. The Ugly....and this is very subjective....when I buy a cookbook, that is what I want; not 35 first pages of programs, not pages of which celebrity, replete with glossy picture, submitted" which recipe. Dr Junger's 21 day detox and such, stands by itself, a good cookbook should do the same. I have followed, and loved, the 21 day Cleanse, and hope the recipes in this book will continue to be great, but so far I have not "fallen in love" with it. If, and when I do, I will update this review.

Unbelievably Delicious Healthy Meals - And Easy to Make!
The book is a gem! I bought it months ago as I saw the author speak on Dr. Oz about being gluten free and dairy free and about gut health and overall health. I have health issues. I have looked for dairy/gluten free cookbooks but haven't found anything worth buying yet. This one, although not advertised as that, is - and also easy on the stomach and helps with inflammation. The recipes are ABSOLUTELY incredibly delicious - I mean better than any restaurant I have eaten at ever. So, if you want to impress people also, or make your kids super happy with your cooking - this will take it a step up..unless you are already an amazing home chef! I LOVE The recipes so much - made one today. I don't know why people are giving it one star and saying ingredients are hard to find and recipes are too complicated. I found it today extremely easy...and the others I made were also. I guess a couple ingredients I noticed, Asian ones, might not be what you have on hand. For example, the recipe I just made (minutes ago) a dessert, had called for coconut sugar. I happened to have that on hand because I cook asian food also. But if you don't have it, it's ok - you can replace it with whatever sugar you prefer. Stuff like that I get at a local asian store and it is so cheap.

Love the book but its cover was ripped when I opened the package box.
I love book! It’s easy to read and the recipes were easy to follow. However, when I got the product, the back cover was ripped and the top edge has a little dent. I decided to keep the book cuz I did not want to go through the process of returning since I have a busy schedule.

Revolutionized our eating habits during COVID!
True story: I went to my local public library to pick up a book I had place on hold. When the librarian disappeared to figure out why it wasn't on the hold shelf, I looked around for a chair to wait. Seeing none, thanks to COVID, I sat on the floor in a random aisle and stared at the titles. Clean eating was the theme but since two of my family members are allergic to soy, legumes and tree nuts, the idea of "plant based" cooking has always been a challenge even though we try. This book, however, had a more pragmatic and less rigid approach. There seemed to be ways to adjust and still obtain the same desired result. The sauces are truly the secret to many of the combinations and we now stock the tomato vinaigrette, rosemary mustard marinade and the pomegranate molasses anytime we run out. Adam's A.M. Pre-Workout Shake is a must as is the Reishi Cappuccino. I renewed the book so often that I finally broke down and bought one. But, truth be told, I like the broke-in version better and tried to exchange the library's copy for the new one but the library wouldn't take it. I'm super sad about the loss of that particular copy but will do my best to make mine look like it asap.

Beautifully Done Clean Program!
I discovered The Clean program quite by accident 3 years ago and I have done the 21 Day Plan 3 years in a row. This program is not a fad: it teaches you so much about food and toxins and how good foods can really help heal your body. All who are devotees to the Clean Program have been waiting for this book and boy, does it deliver. I was not surprised that this book would be amazing because Frank Gigilo, Chef with the Clean Program, has created some memorable meals before this book came out and are posted on the Clean Blog. He did not disappoint AT ALL! Dr Junger passion and Frank's genuis mesh well here and Dr Junger has a few cool recipes up his sleeves too. This program has changed my life and the way I look at food. Food has power; Bad foods can get you sick and good foods can heal you. I am in awe of the program still! LOVE IT!

Kindle edition sucks
Are you serious? You can include pics of the people contributing the recipes but not of the dishes? Shame. I wish I could have my money back. Also, indexed cuewords in the back are not linked to the front, mere page numbers are given, which doesn't help at all in the kindle edition. Quite bad.

Awesome
Clean changed my eating habits, and this book is full of more ideas and healthy suggestions! So glad I bought it
