This combination lock was to go onto a Milgard sliding glass door. What I liked was it worked as advertised (uninstalled) and was easy to set the codes. It looked like it would hold up but the latch mechanism could have worked more smoothly. When it came time to install it on the sliding door, my door recessed so far into the sliding door frame that the screws to hold it on would have gone through the glass because of the width of the lock. Other pictures I have seen had more room to work with than my door did. I ended up returning it and will probably just go with a key lock.Do not attempt to install this unless you are pretty handy as there is a good chance you will have to cut/chisel some wood or put in some shims/spacers to make things work. The instructions are marginal and you will be mostly on your own. The actual product seems to work, but if it is for a sliding door search for pictures of it actually installed and read what owners did to make it work.

Lock works great but after a few uses item starts to get stuck and you can’t use it anymore

I rarely feel so strongly about a product i purchase, if i do not like it, I just return it; but this lock is so so so horrible I wanted to tell you why: it will not keep intruders from entering your home through your sliding doors. Once you install it (which is not easy as the instructions are in incompressible English and none of the holes in the instructions line up with the lock itself) you can ONLY safely lock it from the inside. If you lock it from the outside: the handle can only drive the lock so far in, leaving it "loose". The flawed system allows for anyone to simply "wiggle" the sliding door until the lock slides open. Again, use this a "privacy lock" but do not use it to protect your home from intruders.

Due to extended door frame, this lock will not work on a new door! Unfortunately it took 8 weeks to get my door and now II'm stuck with a $100 useless lock. Not happy. It never came out of the box, but I can't return it?

Exactly what I was looking for. Rental property has a patio door and the lock was older.So, providing a key-less entry saves me from changing the lock! Directions were unclearbut seasoned technician helped install.
