ASURION 4 Year Kitchen Protection Plan ($80 - $89.99)

I paid $84.99 (plus $24.99 for shipping and handling) for a portable ice maker and $14.99 for a 4 year extended plan. Of course, it is 3 months past the 1 year manufacturer's warranty and the ice maker is broken. I learned that under the so-called warranty, I am only receiving a credit on my Amazon card for $84.99. Well the cost of the identical ice maker will cost me $129.99 for the ice maker plus the costs of shipping and handling which will be about $24.99 and the additional cost of a warranty ($14.99) for a total cost of $169.97. Which means after being reimbursed for the cost of the old ice maker, I have to pay approximately $84.98 out-of-pocket for a new ice maker with my warranty plan. What is the purpose of a warranty when you don't replace an item at the same costs of what it will cost you to replace it? It will cost me money after a warranty? That is not how warranties work!

The plan starts the day of purchase.. even though you have not received the item.. That is deceiving.. so if it takes a month to receive the item.. you lost a month of the protection plan.. Wished I had known before I purchased.

I save these emails in a folder. Instead of a random Amazon order number, it would be nice to know what item this goes with. I’ve never made a claim, so I can’t speak to the service, but initial usability is poor. I have four of these in my Archives and no idea how to tag which goes with what.

For that kind of money you can mail me something that I can keep in a home file. In a drawer!

I have always ordered the Asurion Insurance when it is available - this accompanied a 4-slice Cuisinart toaster gift to my son and family - the children are having so much fun making their own breakfast before school! And with the insurance, we know they will continue to have fun for years!Add-on to above review: I have yet to receive the "protection plan service agreement via separate email from Amazon"! Not so happy with this purchase after all! I placed order December 4, 2020, and it is now January 18, 2021 - well after the Christmas gift was given - what gives???

I purchased this as extra insurance for the sawsquatch beam saw. Saw showed up and did not work properly. Amazon would not assist me in using the insurance to get a different saw. This insurance is not worth the screen it is written on

Worst warranty ever. Don't fall for this; it is not an extended warranty for 4 years. My item broke at 9 month mark, they send me a gift card and warranty was fullfilled, no more protenction.

I have tried filing a claim online twice now, and upon clicking submit all I get is a circle that goes round and round and round. I finally log out, logged back on trying to pick up where I left off and now all I get is "one moment please, we are processing your request" for over 2 hours....agghhh...
