Behold Your God

An excellent in-depth (but not homework heavy) study on the attributes of God. I am not easily impressed but this study has impressed me & pointed me to Jesus.

Every part of the sale was very good; the book was in good shape and it got here quickly.

This was a great bible study - both for personal and group study. My friend recommended it as she was doing it with her small group. I bought for my morning study. There are a lot of verse look ups (I had to use my Bible app otherwise I would have spent most of my time thumbing pages) - but I would still recommend. I have about 30-40 minutes in the mornings to do my study so one chapter usually took two days. It is a little old school in the writing style and examples, as it was written in the 70's, but I think the timeless concepts are still very relevant and you'll find it easy to apply the truths to your own walk today.

This book is very good for a lower intensity Bible study, as it can be done at a pace of your choosing, and people can come and go in the study and still learn a lot. Each person will grow more if they do the study on their own first, but it can even be done as a 'read it during the meeting time' and 'answer as you go'. There are a lot of copies of this available 'used' on Amazon, but be aware many have had answers already filled in by the previous owner, which can be irritating. One I bought was in excellent condition, one had limited writing that I had to 'white out'.

This book has totally changed my view of God. I've been a Christian for 22 years but I really like this book because it shows how God's character is consistent throughout scripture and in our lives as well. Having a better understanding of God has helped me have a stronger relationship with Him and see my life with a different perspective.Cons: The book was written in the 70s so it assumes you are a stay-at-home mom with kids.I think that this is a great topic for men to study as well, and as a single working woman I see it as relevant to my own life as well. Also, avoids some of the more difficult topics like God's wrath.That being said, I am recommending this book to all my close friends!!

Lots of Scripture to look up and very good material that is spot on for a study on God's attributes.

This study on God's attributes is excellent. It was first published in 1979, but it is timeless. I used the questions to supplement another study on the same subject. Questions in this study were very appropriate for the study I was leading because it had lots of Scripture references in it. The other study I used, sold here on Amazon, is titled "God Is", which also has a website where one can view small group DVDs to accompany the lessons, as well as full length sermons on the subject. I loved both studies!

Firstly, don't be put off that the publication date was 1978, as the material covered is timeless. The reason this study attracted me was that it was centered on God Himself rather than felt needs, which seems to be the case with many women's bible studies. The study seems to do a good job of covering the basics of God's character. It also contains a lot of practical application. It's perfect for a group of women who want a sound biblical study of God without extensive homework. For a more in-depth lay study of God's character, I would suggest the book and study guide for J. I. Packer's classic, "Knowing God."

Very thorough and thoughtful way of presenting how to view our weaknesses. Very enjoyable book to read
