A Must Read
Very enlightening. A must read for anyone interested in this conflict. A very misleading narrative is being portrayed by the mainstream media on this. It is important, that the entire west knows the truth as freedom, democracy and liberty are on the line, given the ambition of the bad actors. And by the way, the good guy is Israel in all of this.

A powerful treatise that shines the bright light of truth on deeply entrenched darkness!
One would think the truths in this magnificent book are obvious. History is history. Right? Not if opponents have a vested interest in rewriting it. But how is this possible in such a time when information is so easily accessible? No doubt, there are some who prefer darkness. But there are others who simply don’t know any better. They hear the common lies of revisionists and mainstream media parrot on behalf of militant Islam and haters of Jews and Israel and think it must be true by its sheer volume. What is needed is for information such as is found in this wonderful book to be spread far and wide with the same energy as those who hate Israel.Thank you, Mr. Spencer, for the truth.

Too much Jew hatred in Islam for Palestinian peace.
This was a fascinating and easy read. Robert has a masterly grasp of prose which makes reading the complex and winding history of the creation of Israel and the world wide Muslim community's obstinate opposition to it very digestible. When researching some of Robert's references to the Muslim imams, sheiks, politicians etc who spewed fourth much anti-Semitic vitriol I found not only that Robert never misquoted them but depressingly enough he could have made an entire book itself just quoting the vast array of Muslim imams, academics, politicians giving anti-Jew diatribes. There is contention as to how much this is based on the Koran and Hadith traditions of Muhammad. I find there is none. The Quran and Hadith are copiously quoted by Muslim scholars in their speeches and lectures when discussing the supposed evils of Israel. The hatred for the Jew from the Palestinians which comes through strong in the book makes for quite a melancholy experience. How can the Israelis ever make true peace with a people who only think their domination over the Jew makes for true peace? I finished the book in two days. Robert does a fantastic job honestly depicting the views and personalities of the key players at the various peace process negotiations whether it be Jimmy Carter, Anwar Sadat or Yasser Arafat. Seeing the dynamic engagement of these statesmen interacting makes for exciting reading indeed. The strange thing is President Trump comes out as the President most sympathetic, innovative, and courageous when dealing with the Israelis, kudos to Trump for that, whatever people say of him at least no one can say he wasn't the best friend as American President that Israel has ever had. If the Palestinians could put aside the chronic hate for the Jew that is so pervasive in their religion and culture then they would start to lead happier lives, and strike a peaceful prosperous deal the Israelis so desperately want to have with them.

A well documented book on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
The idea that a land dispute rather than antisemitism motivates the Palestinians ignores history argues Robert Spencer. He points out that “no one who has ever been involved with the Middle East “peace process” has ever admitted that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is in reality a war of religion and faith”. Hizbollah, HAMAS, and Islamic Jihad Palestine have characterized war with Israel as a jihad. Robert Spencer quotes several Muslim clerics and texts from the Qur’an to prove that the Palestinian armed conflict with Israel, the massacre of Israelis, and global terrorist attacks on Jews is a religious obligation mandated by Islam. Recommended for a documented overview of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

For a number of years already I have been on the lookout for good books that cover this at times complex and also at times puzzling subject.I bought the hard copy of "Legacy of Empire" by Gardner Thompson in early May 2019 at Fowles bookstore in London. It was just put in the "new arrivals" section, and the man noticed I looked at it said it just came in an hour ago. Seeing the author is a historian who had earlier written about Africa and considering the previous year I had already tried to read up about the various intricacies as to how the Balfour declaration came about I mediately bought a copy hoping the book would offer new information or at least an expanded view as it also listed to go beyond the Balfour declaration. The book, however, left me with unease as I noticed that in spite of the already narrow focus of the book, it contains several misrepresentations and simplifications. (Ironically while actually published almost a year ago Legacy of Empire: Britain’s Support of Zionism and The Creation of Israel is now in the US-listed as having just come out on January 28, 2020).That is until I bought the recently published new book, Spencer's The Palestinian Delusion, that clarifies everything from beginning to end in a very informed way placing the subject in a highly needed proper context. Considering the complexity of the subject Spencer's book does this in a most clarifying way. Overall it is Incredibly well done with also well-pointed language.

A very useful resource
An accessible, digestible, well-informed discussion of a subject most Americans feel strongly about, but few actually understand. Jihad isn't just the scary pipedream of a few unhinged attention seekers, it is the basis of Islam and, as RS succinctly demonstrates, the basis of the myth of "Palestinian" nationhood.

Reasonable Perspective on Middle East
I found this book reasonable on a topic that usually reflects unenlightened enthusiasm on the one hand, and ignorance fuelled hatred and pure unadulterated bias, on the other. Spencer lays out the history and facts so that the reader can make their ownconclusions. An excellent, well-informed read from an author who has done their homework and clearly understands the history behind his subject. I highly recommend this book.

Sticks to the facts!
This book sticks to the historical facts. It cuts through the subtle and not so subtle antisemitic tropes constantly repeated in the media. The so called ‘West Bank’ was historically called Judaea and Samaria after the Jews and Samaritan peoples who lived and still live there. It was when the illegal annexation by the Jordanian invasion in1948 happened that the occupiers from Jordan, renamed it to remove its Jewish identity. Israel recaptured it in 1967. Legally in international law an army may recapture its own sovereign land.It is a fact that the Romans coined the name ‘Palestine’ in a bid to eradicate the Jewish identity - Israel. The Romans deliberately ‘latinised’the name of the Jews arch-enemies the ‘Philistines’ as an insult to the Jews. So Israel was renamed Palestine by the Romans and they called the Jews ‘Palestinians’.Of course the Jews threw off these insulting labels as soon as they could in 1948, they used the name Israel again as they were no longer directly oppressed. Page 95 shows how the modern non-Jewish ‘Palestinians’ are an appropriation of the disused Jewish ‘Palestinian’ identity for propaganda purposes - admitted by PLO and others. Prince Hassan of Jordan stated that “Palestine is Jordan and Jordan is Palestine” an admission that the two-state solution was already implemented in 1948 when Trans-Jordan was given to the ‘Palestinian’ Arabs. This was created by giving them 77% of the land that had been allocated to the Jews - and the Jews agreed! This was in addition to the newly created Arab states of Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Obviously, any land allocated to the Jews was unacceptable and still is, to some. This book explains how modern Israel came to be and the machinations of those who seek to destroy it and ethnically cleanse the area of Jews - ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.’A great history book spanning the history of modern Israel and why it is constantly attacked by terrorists, propagandists and media vitriol. Shows how weak and naiive US President Carter et al were and how the US and the West has been hoodwinked by the delusions of the ‘pro-Palestinian’ lobby. A work showing just where the real injustices are, to a World that is only interested in condemning those who have been real victims since Roman times - the Jews.A must read for anyone who wants to know what has been going on behind the distorted headlines of the media and the false facade of ‘Palestinian’ victim hood supported by Iran and its terrorist proxies to annex more (or all the…) land from the Jews.
