Palm Black Inductive Battery Door Touchstone Charging Dock Back Cover for Palm Pixi and Palm Pixi Plus

Arrived quickly and as promised. Good fit and finish. I bought it to replace the original non touchstone cover which was falling apart. Apparently, the original covers(at least the one I got) are not all that sturdy. The sides were all pulling apart and the magnet(tiny one on the door to the mini USB jack) came off within a month of use. That hasn't happened yet with the touchstone. But this time around I am using shell cases and also bought an otterbox which should help on wear and tear. Quite please so far.

I bought the touchstone cover because the original cover that came with my Palm Pixi just completely fell apart and it seemed like a cool concept. Naturally, before I purchased the cover from Amazon I read the reviews. Most of them gave it two or three stars but I figured it was only $4.xx so what-the-hay. It arrived very quickly and I noticed immediately that it was a much sturdier cover than the old one. So I strapped it on the old thing and it gave the apperance that I had just purchased a new phone. Now, because I read the reviews I was forewarned that the magnet on the charge flap was a "piece", so when the magnet fell off in week three it wasn't much of a suprise. Luckily, I saw the magnet when it did come out and I just used some good-ole 'Loctite Super-Glue' and glued that thing right back into place. It's been six months since then and I've had no more problems. Pretty solid product for the price in my humble opinion.

Great item, fast delivery, works well. As everyone else has mentioned the magnet fell off pretty quickly but I never open that flap so it doesn't affect my usage. In fact, it fell off when I was taking the cover off not when opening the door. And I'm sure a dab of super glue would stick it right back on. Otherwise, charges well and super easy to use. My cell battery has never been charged more frequently.

I still have not upgraded my Palm Pixi to a new phone because I haven't seen anything out there that packs so much punch for the size. It slips easily in my front pocket and is super thin and light. The only problem I have had is that the rubber/plastic cover only lasts about 3 months before it starts to break down. I have had to buy 3 or 4 per year. The last time I decided to spend a few dollars more and get the Touchstone cover, even though I don't have a Touchstone charging dock. This cover is much more durable than the stock rubber/plastic ones. I'm not sure what material it is, but I believe it is going to go the distance and I am very happy with it. And, if my USB charger part ever decides to die I'll just need to buy a Touchstone charging dock and I'm back in business.

Just like I thought (because PALM phones suck) this case did the same thing the one that comes with the phone did. The door that covers the charging socket hangs open because the flimsy door has a magnet that should hold it closed but of course the magnet is taped on with a substance that isn't very tacky. Almost looks like a piece of tape. I give up. I'm getting rid of the phone all together. It's just a bad product and I think I may be the last person with a Palm Pixi anyway. No wonder the case was only $4.

Charging my Pixi was a pain until I got this because the little door over the port likes to very quickly snap back into place before you get the charger plugged in. It's not hard to hold it open, but if you have big, clumsy fingers like mine, it can take a few tries. Not to mention the magnet on the door isn't secured very well and fell off as a result of opening and closing the door often (as this phone needs to be re-charged almost contantly). Losing the magnet off my first cover is really what prompted me to get the Touchstone in the first place. After the magnet was gone, the door wouldn't stay closed and eventually the rubber started to separate from the cover, requiring a new back. I figured I'd go ahead and spring for the Touchstone back and charging station. Best decision I've made involving this phone for sure!! That being said, the magnet has already fallen off once, but fortunately I was paying attention when it happened so I was able to recover the magnet. I glued it back on with some Gorilla Glue and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere now. If Palm used better adhesive this would easily be a 4 or 5-star review.

I just got my touchstone cover today. I bought my slightly used palm pixi plus online here on amazon and they delivered quickly and in very good condition. But the back cover that shipped with the palm pixi had obviously been a bit damaged on the side, and it stuck out. So I decided to get the touchstone cover and charger, cause I thought it was kinda a neat thing. And I was right, I love how easy it is to charge on the touchstone dock and the touchstone cover is alot better than the original one that comes with the phone. I am now completely satisfied with my phone and the way i'm able to charge is really great too. I can't even tell you how much my old cover bothered me but now it's all good. I recommend the touchstone cover and charger for palm pixi, even if your pixi works just fine with the original charger, this is a rather fun and more efficient way to charge and it's always good to have an extra charger.

Nice surprise that it works with Touchstone charger. Product description at the top of the web page seems to be about a slide projector remote control, not a back cover for a phone.
