Replaced my worn blow out one on excursion. No more sticking a pole to hold the hood up. Super easy to change. One strut will not support the hood if the wind blows! Have a helper hold hood while doing each side. Less than ten minutes and your good to go. They pop the hood up with very well and and strong. Good instructions if you don't know how to do it. A simple screw driver is all you need to pop the old clips off. Don't worry if you loose or break one. The new ones you just give em a love tap and the pop right on and lock with the new clips that are preinstalled

Completely satisfied and a perfect fit for our 2000 Ford Excursion. Quality seems to be very good. While I have previously changed these types of lift supports and felt completely comfortable doing the job myself, the vendor was attentive enough to automatically send an email with a link to an instructional video. The instructional video appeared to be produced very professionally and would have been very reassuring to anyone who may not have had previous experience. We replaced both the rear hatch supports as well as the hood supports in a matter of minutes. I would gladly purchase from this vendor again.

These worked great on my 2003 Ford Excursion. The old ones were a bit tough to get off, so I ended up removing the metal clip with a screwdriver and they just slipped off. (Don't forget to brace the hatch/hood or you'll end up with a headache!) The new ones simply slipped on and latched in to place. Now my hood almost lifts me up, even in cold weather.

Prop hood up, pop clips off old gas lift, wiped ball stud clean and gave it a spritz of silicone spray, easily pushed ends of new gas lift on to the clean studs. After the first one was installed, it lifted hood to where my prop fell out and held up the hood all by itself while I repeated the installation on the other side. Quality product, fair price. Anymore it seems like things are built to meet specifications, and not a penny over that requirement. It is refreshing to see a product built so well it could easily double what its expected to do. I say this because when I installed the first hood support, it held the hood up all by itself with plenty of power to spare, I had fully expected the hood to try and come down while the second support was installed, I had errantly figured they would make this product so weak that it be necessary to have both supports installed to support the hood. Anyone who owns an F350 SD 7.3 Diesel knows the hood is really heavy! Just one of these lift supports kept the hood open after installing it. Before this, I would have to inch up the hood until it was completely open. Now, all I do is release the hood lever under the hood and give a slight push up; the two lifts working together now raises the hood with no problemo! Great support and I am buying another one for my 2005 Jeep in just a min.Ron Reynolds

exact replacement on a 2003 ford f-250 super duty truck. Old ones would not really hold lid up and hood was much heavery before replacement. Now it easier to raise and no worries on staying up. rate AAAA product.
