I updated the switches and plugs on a house built in 1970. There were 3 outlets in a room, all a slightly different height, and buried partway in a shelf. I brought the wires forward , mounted these on top of the shelves and it looks so nice. I hate having to cut wall plates. Especially 3 different sizes. There are several holes in the back of the box, and I was able to find the right hole configuration for each one to mount securely to the holes in the electrical box. I had to make a couple of the holes larger, which wasn't a problem since these are plastic. And no visible exterior knockouts.
